Visited for the first time and had very good experience. Food is very fresh, tasty and flavourful. Shisha was good as well . Jay served us today , very attentive, nice and friendly service. I totally recommend this place , we will be back . Thank you!

I moved to Canada from Australia and this is my first time in Calgary. I was pleasantly surprised to find a place like Ishtar after searching hard for years in Montreal. The environment was fantastic the fellow patrons provided a great atmosphere.

Staff were kind, prompt and polite with the right amount of attentiveness and letting you relax.

The food was just like home in Western Sydney. From the hummus to the toum to the baklava to the argileh/shish to the music. It was truly a slice of home and the quality was perfect from every aspect.

Will be back and highly recommend anyone looking for a parlour.

We had such a lovely experience at Ishtar! The food was delicious, and the service was even better - warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. It felt like being hosted by family. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

We visited Ishtar Restaurant in Calgary and the food itself was really good — fresh, flavorful, and well-portioned. We were looking forward to it and the quality didn’t disappoint.

Unfortunately, the service did. We received the wrong dish compared to what was described on the menu, but when we brought it up, they insisted it was correct and wouldn’t fix it. Only when we pointed it out again while paying did they finally admit the mistake — but by then, it was too late to change it.

On top of that, the bill also had the wrong price, which was frustrating to deal with at the end of the meal.

Overall, the food is worth trying if you’re craving this cuisine, but I really hope they improve how they handle customer feedback and billing mistakes.

We hosted a party at Ishtar, it was a wonderful experience overall. The food was delicious, very generous and the service was excellent. Everything went according to the plan and perfectly. I definitely recommend, the people there are very kind and generous.

Folks who work here are BEYOND nice. And the food is just as good. I stopped by at 11:30pm for a quick take out order but was treated like I’ve been coming there for years - everyone was kind, offering water, tea and a pastry while I waited. The chicken shawarma I got was delicious! Overall - an excellent place for a quick bite or to sit down for dinner and smoke hookah.

We recently hosted a gathering of 80 people at this restaurant, The service was outstanding and I couldn’t be more impressed with the service and quality. Every dish was served at the same time — warm, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Coordinating such a large group is no small task, but the team handled it flawlessly. From the food presentation to the attention to detail, everything was exceptional, the staff were attentive and genuinely friendly, ensuring that every aspect of our meal was taken care of. A big thank you to the staff and kitchen team for making our event so smooth and memorable. Highly recommended for large gatherings and special occasions!
