Dont leave reviews normally but I had to. How can chinese food end up this bad?? Only this place, and Hong Chou inn on 17th has been the worst I ever had. Probably lots of these 5 star reviews are fake, just like hong chou fakes em. Food was as if it was undercooked, fried rice was.....mushy and....bleh. These others who are saying they probably just do pre frozen stuff are right. Took all of 5 mins to prepare?? Way too fast. Id rather wait longer and have something decent, but this was really bad!

Ordered 120$ worth of food So we got
ginger beef: that wasn’t even fully cooked
Lemon chicken: where the heck was the chicken?? Literally all bread
Sweet and sour pork: breading was over done and meat still raw
Beef and broccoli: where was the beef?? 99% broccoli
Wonton soup
Spring rolls no filling just the roll what the heck
And rice that was definitely made the morning before
All dishes were extremely cold and had very little flavour, everything was chewy as if it was yesterday’s.

This small, family run business was a wonderful surprise. The atmosphere was dated and spartan but the host was welcoming and warm. Service was quick and friendly but it was the food that got our attention. Everything was fresh and piping hot, and cooked to perfection. Honestly the best ginger beef I've ever eaten. If you ever feel like you want to support an actual family rather than a corporation, I highly recommend John Wong's.

We found the food was pretty dry. We are used to dishes being served with a sauce. The food tasted good, but was just lacking to our taste. As an example, the beef in the ginger beef was tender, but too little ginger and sauce made the food a bit bland.

Normally, I love and rave about this place when I'm here. NYE, all I wanted was 2.combo dinners for 1, but they were not offering this on this night. I called 1 other place, same thing, no combos. I had to drive across to Ogden SE, to Ken's Chinese restaurant,which is just as good and compares the same in quantity in food. I got my 2 combo dinners for 1 and cost me $22.00 with a discount as the owner was delighted. I drove from Woodlands to them just to get what I wanted without trying to get rich on NYE. DO BETTER!
I can't give any stars as my experience was none on this particular night at John Wongs as I never got food from here.

The service was horrible they should take some lessons to how to speak to customers
