A Hidden Gem for Breakfast Lovers!

I recently visited John's Breakfast & Lunch in Calgary and had one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. I ordered the eggs benedict, and wow—absolutely delicious! The hollandaise sauce was perfectly creamy, the eggs were poached to perfection, and everything was served hot and fresh.

You can tell this place has been around for a while, and for good reason. It’s got that cozy, no-frills charm that only comes with long-standing local favourites. The service was friendly, fast, and welcoming, and the entire experience felt like a comforting weekend tradition.

If you’re in Calgary and looking for a solid, satisfying breakfast spot, I highly recommend checking out John’s. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is one of those classic spots that delivers every time.

Fresh and delicious. Nice staff. They forgot a couple things from our order. They brought it to us right away. The omelet Benny was supposed to have holidays on it and was forgotten, then they just gave a small side dish of holidays. Still good quality. Breakfast poutine was good.

Great food, coffee and tea. The flavors were authentic and everything tasted fresh. The customer service was amazing, warm, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. Prices were very reasonable for the quality. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cozy spot with delicious Turkish dishes and a relaxing atmosphere.

As soon as I sat down I knew I'd love it. Family friendly. All regulars eating, so that's a great sign! Service was great. Very polite and friendly. Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly and the price was right. They've made a regular out of me and I will be back. Lovely family owed joint. 10/10 🌟

Lovely place for breakfast. I had the half order eggs Benedict which I thoroughly enjoyed. Nothing fancy, but fresh ingredients and homemade taste. Nothing greasy which I really appreciate. I will definitely be back. Looking forward to trying lunch as well.

This is my first time here and I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed it. The woman working was so nice and the food portions were absolutely massive

John's Breakfast and Lunch is such a cozy little gem! My partner's sister recommended this place and it did not disappoint. We stopped in to grab a late breakfast on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was pretty busy the entire time. My partner had the breakfast poutine and I had an omelet. There was no wait time to be seated for us, but I can imagine the place fills up quickly on the weekends. The coffee was fresh and our coffee cups were never close to being empty thanks to the wonderful service. The bread that came with my omelet was out of this world! We thought the prices were fair given the portions. We parked for free around the corner on one of the neighborhood streets.

My first impression of this restaurant was that it was cozy.

Although it was Monday afternoon, there was a steady stream of customers coming in for lunch. Many of them seemed to be elderly and regular customers, meaning that the taste of the food seemed to have already been proofed over many years.

I had Eggs Benedict, and the Hollandaise sauce, poached eggs, and ham went well together.

I also wanted to try Breakfast Poutine, but I went alone and couldn’t try it. I’ll definitely try it next time I go.

The service and serving were excellent and friendly.
