The service at John’s is personal and friendly — they remember everyone's order! I always get the half benny-- this is great on the wallet, and isn't over filling. It’s quick, sweet service that makes you feel like part of the family. The prices are also very reasonable, especially compared to many other spots around. There’s something comforting about seeing familiar faces here week after week, and I love the sense of community that comes with every visit.
A nice backstory here is that the daughters of John’s family now have their own venture, Milk Ice Cream, which originally sold out of this very cafe. It’s little stories like this that make John’s Breakfast feel like more than just a restaurant — it’s a part of the neighborhood’s fabric. My husband and I LOVE to eat on the little patio throughout the summer months. We have a regular order and the owner (who also serves) knows it by heart as we eat there so often. Such a welcoming place. Love that it's so close to our home.

Excellent family run diner, good breakfast options. Great service. Chairs are a little uncomfortable, so keep that in mind if you plan on staying a while, but don’t let that stop you from going.
Quite simply this place is amazing. The service is great, the food is delicious and it’s not all greasy like other places can be. It’s 5 minutes down the road from me and I love sitting on the patio in the summer.

This is very nostalgic for me, a family run Cantonese business. I’m the few minutes I stopped to get a coffee and some food for my kids for after swimming I could see what a rich and kind community it was. A client came into let the owner know that another guest was parked in the wrong spot (happened to be me ) so that another business wouldn’t complain about them. Thank you for working for hard and being a community space for people. We are running out of these mom and pa shops and we need to do our best to keep them afloat !

I was checking some breakfast places in Calgary and found John’s breakfast, after exploring reviews found that here is the best wonton soup. Me and my wife went to try it and for 100% sure this is it! The best soup you can find in Calgary. Special omelet is also very good! Service is great and place is very nice ? feels like you come home ? So it’s 5 star for sure!
