Came here a couple days ago and was very disappointed. The second we stepped in, the servers didn’t say hi or anything, they just stared at us quietly.
The restaurant smelled horribly like Shisha and it was burning hot inside.
When we went to order, the server had no respect for personal space and stuck his face near me when we were ordering.
They were out of half of the menu! They had barely anything available and the whole menu was Arabic and Pakistani food with less than 5 Afghani foods.
This is the first restaurant where we left before ordering

Great service, Romal always doing a good job special Thanks.
Absolutely unacceptable experience. We visited this restaurant in Calgary and were extremely disappointed—not just with the service, but more so with the attitude and behavior of the staff.
From the moment we spoke Farsi, we noticed we were treated differently. It felt like if you’re not Pashto-speaking, you’re simply not welcome or respected. We were first told the food would take about an hour, which we patiently agreed to. But after waiting, they suddenly came back and said the food we ordered “isn’t on the menu today.” No apology. Just a careless attitude.
Meanwhile, the staff seemed more interested in staring at female customers than actually doing their job. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. The only time they seemed eager to serve was when someone ordered hookah—otherwise, you’re treated like an afterthought.
This place doesn’t reflect the hospitality Afghan culture is known for. If you’re looking for respectful service and actual food—not just hookah and attitude—I suggest you take your business elsewhere.

No idea how this place is allowed to stay open and run a business, just terrible.
Restaurantji Recommends
The management and the overall environment, including the food service, left something to be desired.
It seems that the management or ownership could potentially improve their practices. The individual working as both cashier and chef was clearly working diligently to meet the demands, but the staffing levels appeared insufficient to manage the situation effectively. Two additional individuals attempted to assist, but their lack of training and unprofessional conduct, such as vaping inside the restaurant, was noticeable.
Furthermore, the ordered Kabuli rice with kebab was not as expected, as regular boiled rice was served with cold kebabs. It appeared that the owner or management might be attempting to reduce costs by understaffing and inadequate training.
The experience was disappointing, somehow finished the as we were hungry and left. We are less likely to visit this place.

Disappointing Experience
Poor Service and Terrible Food
We came to this restaurant and ordered the lamb shank and chicken kadai. When we placed our order, the manager confidently told us it would be ready in 10 minutes. We knew that was ambitious, but after waiting 20 minutes, we went back to check. Instead of an apology, the manager shrugged and said, “It takes more than 20 minutes on a kadai,” with an attitude, as though we were unreasonable for expecting what he himself promised.
Since it was taking so long, we asked to just get the lamb shank first. The lamb shank was supposed to be soft and tender, but it was hard as a rock, as if it had been reheated multiple times. The rice was bland and forgettable.
When the chicken kadai finally arrived, it was basically chunks of boneless chicken smothered in tomato—nothing like an authentic kadai dish. We also ordered a garlic naan and a regular naan. They charged us for garlic naan, but when the bread arrived, both looked identical. When we asked which was which, the manager simply said, “Bro, I don’t have garlic naan.” Again, no apology or effort to make it right.
just excuses and attitude.
Even basic service was lacking. When the kabli pulao came out, there were no side plates. We had to ask twice for plates, and each time we got annoyed looks, as though we were inconveniencing them by asking for something any restaurant should provide without hesitation.
Overall, the food was terrible, and the service was worse. It felt like the restaurant’s main focus was catering to people sitting around smoking shisha, not serving good food or caring about customer experience.
I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food or decent hospitality.
The food is pretty good, although not exquisite. The washroom was in terrible condition when we went there in June 2025.
Worst shawarma I’ve ever had. Not laffa or lavesh, more like wet cardboard. Chicken tasted microwaved and unseasoned. I also waited almost 20 minutes. Clearly not a food spot, it’s just for Shisha, and even that’s sub par. If there’s no were else to go for shisha then fine, go here. But like anywhere else downtown is better, except fire and ice that’s somehow even worse. I’m going to quesada next time, at least you can buy booze there.
I came here after stampede because I really wanted a donair and wow I was UNDERWHELMED. The lettuce sat in a pool of water and the guys behind the counter were hitting a vape before they put gloves on without washing their hands to make my donair. I was so hungry but ate with caution. This did not hit the spot at all
