Salmon sashimi was tasty but pieces were so small. Some of the pieces had rice stuck to them, so maybe I just got the nigiri with rice removed. Regardless, I was not impressed.Tempura and rolls were edible. Overall, not much value for what we paid. $50 appetizers really, then had to get a real meal down the road.
Really nice restaurant. Chill vibe. High quality sashimi. Spicy Beef don was too salty though.
Disappointed. The only good thing was the afternoon sunshine coming in through the windows and seaweed salad which I'm pretty sure was pre made like in most sushi places -(looked and tasted exactly the same ).Sashimi was clearly defrosted and faint in color, sad looking, bland tasting.Maki rolls had way too much rice around than the ingredients in the middle.
Best sushi I’ve had in Calgary. Very fresh and well made. Staff is great as well. (Plus it looks super cool in there :) )
Too expensive for what it is. The sushi pieces are very thin. Also, the service was extremely slow. I ordered sushi and ramen. The sushi didn't come out till we were almost done with the ramen. The waitress didn't come to check on us once.
Best sushi in Calgary! The rapture and golden dragon rolls were absolutely phenomenal. The restaurant itself also has a great atmosphere, it's quaint yet modern!
Nice location. Easy access. Friendly staff. Good feel and vibe. Tasty food.
My husband and I were craving for sushi for quite some time. We decided to try Kanpai Shushi for the proximity to our home. We ordered miso soups and few sushi rolls. The soup was delicious and the sushi rolls were so fresh. Our server Sharon was very nice and friendly, gave us the best service during our lunch. The restaurant was very clean and well organized. I highly recommend their signature sushi volcano roll. Next time we will go for happy hour! Thank you all for the best service and delicious fresh food.
Rolls lacked flavour & fell apart. Symphony was expensive, especially since some pieces were missing scallop. Karaage was more fried whatnot than chicken. Service was slow as we were ignored for the regulars (2/5).
Had Bento box box. Chicken serving was tiny. Salad tasted like mint. Edamame was good. Rolls were good. Seafood tempura had a spice like a dry rub. Server was great.

Such an amazing experience. Sharon who was our server was so amazing. Food was 10/10 and service was even better. I'd recommend everyone to this restaurant if they want sushi!!!
Friendly staff and they were not intrusive. The food we ordered was fresh and the flavor was wonderful. The restaurant was clean and inviting and the decor was very pleasant. Clearly a well maintained restaurant. The staff member who served us was pleasant to talk to and made us feel very comfortable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Kanpai saved us! We were planning on going to Tamarind, but it was closed... So a wander around and we found Kanpai! My phone was about to die and my partner's was completely deceased, so the server helped us out and let us sit next to an outlet to charge. The service was fantastic, the food was so quick and extremely fresh, the tea was a lovely genmaicha tea.Totally affordable and should become a staple for any sushi craving.5/5 will come back for more!
Very nice place and good sushi. Hand cones are also great and staff was very friendly.
Sushi was good but the udon wasn't good. Washrooms are outside the hall and you have to ask for the washroom code.
