Kilkenny Irish Pub

Someone at the bar thought it was a good idea to put TVs outside. All it really did was give groups of drunk people a reason to watch sports, yell and fight. The problem? The bar is surrounded by houses, townhomes, and an apartment building. People are trying to sleep but drunk crowds are making noise and disturbing everyone. One star out of five for disrespecting the Brentwood community.

I think they did an excellent job giving the Kilkenny a needed face lift without changing the atmosphere and vibe too much. Too bad to see the superior Irish pub in the complex go but this was a good transition. Food is good the outdoor seating area is lovely.

Absolutely appalling reaction to constructive criticism of the beer at the *brand new* Kampus brewpub. I’ll drink MOST beer but the Western IPA had a sulphurous smell to it that indicated a problem with the brewing process and/or tap/lines. Our server was lovely but was not authorized to comp my 1/5 consumed beer. She asked if I would like a replacement and I said that I’d take the IPA I’d had previously - which was just ok. Upon her return she informed me that I’d have to pay for the 1/5 consumed beer that was taken away from me (this is *actual* theft btw). Foolishly I drank the final beer as I processed the interaction. I informed the server that while this was not really her fault, I would never return and that this was in line with a previous visit where I complained about desiccated wings to essentially a shrug from the establishment. A new business should value this kind of feedback and ask for details rather than squeeze well intentioned people for $$. Good luck Kampus Brewing. You’re going to need it.

The name may have changed, the decor may be much brighter, and the beer may be brewed on site now. But its still the Kilkenny. The staff (Tony especially) are still amazing, the food hasnt changed (which is definitely a good thing) and the new beers are certainly a welcome addition. This doesn't taste like a new brewery, they have a good mix of several well composed recipes. Prices are still very reasonable for how close this place is to the university. While I'll miss the little divier vibe of the Kilk, this is still a great spot.

Wednesday nite,super slow .sat down 15mins, no one came up to help us. We had to leave. Absolutely horrible experience.

Used to be a GREAT IRISH PUB, now it was torn into a McDonald's style bar.

Food used to be awsome, now plates are poor served and without taste.

From my personal view the renewal was a huge mistake, won't go again.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. However the food volume of the chicken and mush was too small. I got the two potatoes from my friend who ordered a pork belly sandwich.. There came with only a piece of thin pancake stuffed with some ckicken and mushroom bits.. I had to order a pizza as well.. for the total of $50 I can definitely get more better brunch options in Calgary...

This place is booming on Friday nights!! The food was surprisingly amazing definitely upgraded from before the renovations. My partner and I haven’t been here in a year and this was where we had our first date! Loving the cleaner atmosphere. Feeling nostalgic, tipsy, and hella satiated!
