Kilkenny is a great neighborhood pub. It is also a great venue to hosting large gatherings. We recently hosted a 40th reunion with close to 90 people. There is a great private area you can book and the staff are amazing at working with you to host a great event. Food choices, AV equipment, drink specials if you want. If you are hosting something and want a fun, relaxed place to do it this is a great place. If we are still around for the 50th we'll be coming back here for sure.

Kilkenny is a stand alone pub in Calgary, rather than a chain restaurant. With this perspective in mind, one would think that their food would be consistently good pub food. However, what we ate yesterday was absolutely terrible. I paid $26 for a single piece halibut fish and chips dish only to receive something that tasted like it was fried in weeks old oil. The batter tasted nothing like beer and was bitter, almost ruining the fish inside. It also seemed to be over fried. Same for the chips, emaciated fries that were brown from frying too long in bad oil. When it came to my wife's steak we were supposed to receive a ten ounce New York strip cooked to medium rare. We got a rare piece of meat that was too over charred on the outside. Almost every bite of the steak tasted burnt. To be honest, I can cook a better tasting larger steak in a frying pan at home, so why should we eat at a place like Kilkenny? The vegetable and mashed potato sides were okay at best. The point is, when one goes out to eat, it is with the expectation that the food will be better than what one can cook at home. Oh, and to put an exclamation point on this issue, I was asked if I wanted gravy with the chips. I paid $2 extra for a small bowl of gravy and it was terrible. Thankfully I made it clear the food was subpar and the server provided a dessert as a comp. However, it is questionable whether we will go back to Kilkenny again.

Monday night in the neighbourhood pub! Outside was hopping with hockey games on TV and the backside was quiet enough for comfortable conversation - just what we needed. The hot tip? Get there before 6 PM for the tasty and value packed happy hour appies! The servers are cheerful, attentive and respectful.

Food and service was excellent with the exception of the $17 potato. Otherwise, love the spot!

Been here a few times to eat, the food is enjoyable, tasty and well made. The portions are lacking for my preference especially on the breakfast menu. Over $50 for 2 boxtie meals a very weak coffee and a orange juice for me and my company and we both left hungry. It was very tasty but just not enough, a good side of hash browns would go a long way with that meal. Atmosphere is good, most the staff are friendly and attentive. Prices and portions are really the only complaints.

This pub sets a new standard for appalling customer treatment. The service here is beyond dreadful, reaching new lows in hospitality. We endured an excruciating 20-minute wait at our table, met with deafening silence from the waitress. When she finally graced us with her presence, she simply admitted to intentionally ignoring us, seemingly indulging in her decision to be spiteful for no apparent reason. Instead of fulfilling her basic job requirements, she insisted we order at the bar, essentially opting out of the fundamental concept of customer service. It's baffling how being rude to patrons aligns with their understanding of hospitality. The sheer volume of negative reviews for this establishment speaks volumes about its abysmal reputation.

My friends and I enjoyed an amazing meal today for brunch. Food selection and flavour was amazing with many gluten free options and service was delightful. Definitely going back soon!!!

Pretty tasty deep dish pizza. Wings were decent and beer was cold. Happened to hit happy hour and prices were pretty good as well.

Ordered a $24 steak sandwich. This by far worst steak sandwich I have ever been offered. Smothered in onions to hide the fact a 7oz steak was the size of loonie. The accompanying salad was also sub par.Parking: Middle of the afternoon parked right outside front door.
