Love the viet subs. Definitely worth the walk from Marlborough station! I come here all the time when I’m done my workout.
SUB-par bahn mi. Don't come here for that. Bread is kinda stale, pate tasted off, meat isn't fresh and there was plastic in my bubble tea 😵💫 I saw her microwave something that has cling wrap before putting it in the bubble tea to blend. I spit out pieces of it in the first sip 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
Update: My son and I both got food poisoning the same night as we shared the bahn mi. That was the only thing we both ate that was the same that day so I know it's 100% the banh mi. This store is blacklisted for us. Never again! ☠️
I came at 5:40 pm, 20 min before closing asking for a couple of sub. The guy who worked there told me they ran out of bread so I browsed for something else to purchase but to my surprise I saw two piles of bread stored in the back of their fridge. I took a picture but didn't confront them because I don't see the point of hostility so I came on here to tell my incident. This is not the first time I have a service problem like this here but there comes a point when you need to speak up to poor mannerisms.
Just ordered some spring rolls from here and I gotta say they are number one-ah spring roll in all of Calgary. Stop by and you won’t be disappointed
Reasonable price and amazing banh mi.
Best place to get your south East Asian deli meat. You can find pho beef ball fresh to frozen. Steam cha lua (Vietnamese deli cold cut). They also have fresh deep fried cha lua.
Seriously delicious food to order (subs, pho, bun) in addition to the small grocery and deli
Kim Chau used to be our go to. We would literally order 7-8 subs each time we went. While I was pregnant we went on an almost weekly basis. Over time I noticed that the quality as well as quantity is sliding lower and lower. The subs used to be packed full of meat and veggies. We used to order both the beef sate as well as the cold cut subs.We stopped ordering the sate beef as they started putting a small line of beef that was cold and tasted strongly of cinnamon (they changed the recipe). Currently we just order the cold cut and even then I find that they are starting to reduce the amount of same. I wish I had a before and after picture to show same.Pricewise Kim Chau used to be hard to beat at $5 a sub. That increased to $6 a sub. When we went in last week, it is now $7 a sub. For the price as well as food quality it kind of makes it hard to justify making the trip to order same. You can give it a try and see what you think. I think we may be looking for our new banh mi (sub go to) in the interim. On another note the customer service has waxed and waned throughout the years. The current guy working at the front is much more friendlier and courteous than his previous female counterpart.
Excellent and AMAZING customer service. they really take a good care of customers, and food is really good as well.
Great place to get specialty Vietnamese products that are hard to find anywhere else in Calgary. We love the nem nuong.

Got very sick from the sate beef Viet sub. Would not go near this place.

A hidden gem of a store. The subs are very good and are a great price. They have a good menu selection of soups, subs and entrees. There is a good selection of frozen and dried Vietnamese foods to buy from the freezers and shelves.
Staffs are friendly.
