Kinjo Sushi & Grill Westhills

i go to this location quite often, and usually it’s pretty busy but for the most part the service is decent. i went tonight and it took a while for us to get seated as servers/hostess's were looking our direction and ignoring us. we got seated and got our food and everything seemed normal at first, but we noticed that we didn’t get some chicken that we had ordered. we looked at our order on the piece of paper at our table and it showed that the chicken had been crossed off; meaning that we had already received it. eventually, the manager came to us and asked if we had got it yet. my boyfriend said no but but i thought he asked if we ordered it, so i said yes. the manager seemed annoyed about the fact that we both had different answers, probably thinking that we were trying to get a free chicken appetizer. he just had this annoyed and rude look on his face. it’s not our fault that someone crossed it off by mistake. then it took a while for our server to come back with our bill. usually the service is pretty good, but i didn’t have a good experience tonight.

A really good Japanese to go. The food was delicious and fresh. The way you can order is super easy, you can see the pictures on the main menu and note by the number of the plate and quantity on a command and give this for the lady. The staff was super polite and they sing happy birthday for my wife and make it super special for me and my family. I super recommend this restaurant for the food and for the experience 🙏🏼

EDIT: I reached out to the restaurant as per their request to my review but all manager did was to say the food was fine because they did not receive any other complaints that night. Their response to google reviews seems to be purely for optics as they offered nothing to “make anything right” and even refused to refund the check. This is the 3rd time we got sick out of 4 times we’ve been there in total. That’s 75% chance of getting sick when you eat here. I would avoid this place at all cost.

Both kids ate the same food here and were up all night sick. Both Gyoza filling and sushi were mushy did not smell good. As other reviewers have mentioned, their food do not look or smell fresh. Would never return.

We always appreciate dining at Kinjo, where we can indulge in their affordable and delectable cuisine, satisfying our cravings for Japanese food. My family and I enjoyed eating here and please refrain from removing the kids meal, as my nieces are extremely fond of it and it's highly affordable, with a cost of $2.50, which is an exceptionally good value.

Very nice staff and very yummy affordable food. It's a very noisy atmosphere but thats understandable considering I go during the busy hours. Definitely recommended if your looking for some quick affordable food! ❤️

I was at this location yesterday and I have to say i am very impressed with the service I received. Our waiter, Ken, was so kind and genuinely elevated our dining experience. He made sure the food came super fast, and repeatedly came back to check on us to make sure we were satisfied.

Wow, just wow! I was here yesterday (August 16) and was served by one of the most compassionate people I’ve ever met—Ken. He went above and beyond to make sure all of our food was perfect and even gave us amazing recommendations that we truly enjoyed. Ken is the reason this place is a 5/5 for me. The food was great too, but if you’re visiting, definitely ask for Ken!

This wonderful establishment was made even better by the service i received from one of the crew members in specific, Ken. He made sure all of our food arrived promptly and catered to our every need ensuring that we were continually satisfied. I hope he gets the recognition that he deserves for the stellar job he has been doing at this fine establishment and I hope he keeps up this kind work ethic. Thank you Kinjo and thank you Ken.

I dined in with 8 other people and got only one serving of ginger and wasabi. I asked for more but my request was ignored. I also ordered teriyaki beef and the serving was so small. I never knew Calgary was facing a famine because why was the kitchen rationing my food. Did it take 30 minutes for you guys to portion my food between the other 50 people too? Because the beef took 45 minutes to get ready. My beef came in with barely any teriyaki sauce too. There was no long bean in my teriyaki beef. Steak came in well done. Otherwise the sushi and the sashimi was great. Only complaint for food was from the grill. Dined in at 8:30pm August 13

Been coming to this location for a long time, great food, however the service has gone very downhill over time. Specifically, when ordering takeout I asked for 3 pieces of ginger chicken, when I arrived after the time DoorDash told me it would be ready at, the server informed me that they were out of ginger chicken and it would be a 10 minute wait. I came back 10 minutes later and saw they had none, but there were empty trays in the heater. I got curious and asked a man walking toward the door what he got, he told me he got ginger chicken and recommended it to me. I then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for ginger chicken. This happened on a second occasion where I specified a time for pickup of a big order for a party. Again the issue was with the chicken. I waited 40 minutes after the specified picked time for it, I’m not sure why they don’t prepare takeout orders for specified times or atleast set some aside for orders placed 30+ minutes ago.
