Absolutely the best katsu place in the city! I've basically tried all the katsu resto in Calgary, and I can say -- the breading here at Koji is definitely the best. My favourite is the ebi (shrimp) set. Reasonable pricing. Would definitely continue to return.

Small diner - feels like Tokyo. Good taste and portion sizes! The shrimp were cooked perfectly.
A side cabbage (with dressing) was a nice compliment to the hearty curry.
Possible change in ownership in the last year? Walls beside the tables are quite dirty. I tried to order green tea and was informed that they only have one tea pot and another table already ordered tea so… “I guess I’ll just have water then”. Ordered the Katsu don and there was egg shells in it so sent back. The broth tasted instant and wasn’t that warm. However the katsu was both crispy and delicious. In their defence, they offered to comp the meal. I want them to be better.

It's a quaint little family-run business that specializes in katsu and while the service was very friendly and accommodating, the food sadly missed the mark for us.
We ordered their chicken katsu curry and teriyaki bowl and both were just wayyy too salty for our liking (the curry in particular). The chicken itself was super fresh and crispy, and the additional cheese katsu I got was also really good.
Unfortunately, the overwhelming saltiness made it difficult to fully enjoy the meal, but it might have just been a one off based on other reviews.

Every time I come here with my friend, we’re both very satisfied with the amount of food and its taste. I personally like and recommend trying the Teriyaki katsu, and the service is really nice, too.

Phenomenal food. I was only in Calgary for a couple of days but this was by far the best place I ate during my stay! Would absolutely eat here again. The chicken katsu-don was soooo good.

I’m giving it 5 stars for food for the benefit of the doubt only, I actually never tried the food because the server at the front door was so repulsive. I walked in at 7, waited for 20 mins before I was told they’re out of rice. She didn’t try to provide any engaging services, not even trying to sit me and my wife down. To be honest I have no idea what she was doing…I just got a feeling that she wanted us out of there asap
Maybe I’ll update review if I ever go in and eat the food
