Exceeded our expectations - a special place that really makes you feel like you're not in Calgary. Tucked in the basement of the shops at Marda Loop, it's definitely a place to go for a cocktail before (or after) exploring the other fantastic shops/restaurants in the area. I will say the music is loud, so if you're not into that, may not be your place. Our drinks were stellar - highly recommend their new Rose Heyyyy and we loved their Dirty Juan Marg. Will be back!
Had a lovely experience at this spot! The unique atmosphere of an open yet intimate venue adds to the overall vibe. Low lighting can create a cozy feel, even if it makes reading the menu a bit of a challenge! That's quite typical in such places, though—a little ambiance can go a long way. Spending around $100 for two cocktails and appetizers is pretty common in upscale settings. The staff was pleasent and the drinks were on point.
Very cool cocktail lounge in the heart of Marda Loop. Fantastic cocktail menu with a full page of Tequila cocktails. John, bartender, and the team are very welcoming in this intimate cocktail lounge. They're also incredibly knowledgeable and have curated a terrific menu. Bar snacks are available currently with the possibility of a larger offering down the road with Penny Crown, their popular sister restaurant that is attached. We're looking forward to returning with more friends to try out more of their menu.
Awesome place. Very intimate. We gave it a 5 for food in order to submit but we didn't have any food when we were there.
What a great hidden neighborhood gem! John was amazing 👏 great cocktails 🍸 Shared the cups and French onion dip. Was delicious 😋
This is such a cute and chic place. Reminds me a bit like Bathtub Gin and Co in Seattle. This is exactly the type of place we like to hangout at. The Mixologist was excellent and knowledgeable. Drinks were creative and fantastic. I loved the bourbon. The four of us really enjoyed our evening.

I’ve had good experiences at La Hacienda in the past, however my most recent was extremely disappointing
My friend and I arrived for our reservation and asked to be moved from the bar to a table for more space. The bartenders checked the reservation list and reluctantly moved us to an available table.
About an hour later, we were told we’d have to leave because a large reservation had just been made and needed the space. No other tables were being asked to leave, which made the situation feel very odd and unprofessional. As regulars of cocktail bars/restaurants around the city, this treatment was uncalled for and left a negative impression.
I have tried to reach out to the bar, however there is not phone number or email address posted, which is frustrating, to say the least.
La Hacienda, please do better.

I absolutely loved coming here. It’s a little separate from the hustle and bustle of down town and I love the atmosphere it brought! The bartender was taking the time to tell me about every drink and had so much knowledge about the different liquors they offer. Such a prefect place to visit!

Genuinely one of the most fun cocktail bars I've been to. Staff were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about sharing about a variety of drinks. Feels tucked away enough that you're not overcrowded but you're still intimate with the rest of the neighborhood. Love it 😻

The drinks are good, but the staff is pretty inattentive. Bartender was on their phone playing casino games or something with the volume on. Kind of ruined the atmosphere

La Hacienda is such a cozy little speakeasy in Calgary!
Tucked away downstairs, it feels like stepping into a moody, romantic hideaway with ornate decor and the charm of a heritage home. The space is intimate, with just a few tables, which makes it perfect for a late-night cocktail.
The bartender was lovely and incredibly knowledgeable, especially if you’re into tequila or mezcal. I tried the Passionfruit Martini and it was next level delicious. Didn’t try the food this time, but we’ll definitely be back.
A must-visit if you’re looking for a unique cocktail bar experience!

Been 3 times now. Cocktails are always good. Staff super friendly and willing to offer suggestions and/or modify to you preferences. Really appreciate that.
Perfect spot for an intimate date night! The service that we got from Emma and Ryan was amazing, they went above and beyond to make our anniversary so special. The cocktails were amazing and the charcuterie board was a great snack. I would keep in mind that there is not much food on the menu. Overall amazing experience and will definitely be coming back again!
We didn't eat any food. I'm very interested in some of the LPs that you have on display and was wondering if you'd be willing to sell them to me? Please let me know. You can reach me at 587–893–2553.
