I received help from both Genevieve and Daren last month, and would definitely recommend Lakeview Bakery! I was able to arrange for a variety of gluten free croissants to be set aside for me, and I was able to pick them up upon arrival in town. No, gluten free croissants are not exactly the same as the regular gluten version (how can they be? it's the gluten that produces that signature texture) but these were really good gluten free croissants and closer to the "real" thing than I had hoped for! We had plain, chocolate, almond, ham & cheese, and spinach & feta, all of which were good. My loved one (who adores croissants and is usually unable to eat them now) was really excited to have them, and it meant a lot to both of us.
Dietary restrictions: My loved one has a gluten allergy, which means croissants are usually not an option for her anymore. It's impossible to get a gluten free croissant that is exactly like a "regular" croissant, but these were really good and a much closer approximation than I expected. Not only were they delicious, but she had no reaction after eating them, which was my main concern. Highly recommend!

This is my favourite gluten-free bakery in the city! So many delicious gluten-free options, from cookies, breads, brownies, and pies! I highly recommend their cranberry walnut bread and chocolate chip cookies 🥰

Had a pleasurable experience at this bakery this morning, stopped in and grabbed a batch of brownies , a spinach and gost cheese Danish and a shortbread cookie, all were 5/5 and the boys on my jobsite all LOVED the brownies, will be coming back thank you for great products and great service

I have been coming to this bakery for a few years and I enjoy everything it has to offer. The desserts taste homemade, and fresh. The breads and buns are amazing. The cinnamon buns and pies are fantastic. I love the different combinations they do with the cupcakes and cheesecakes. I also appreciate that they offer 50% sales which helps a lot. The customer service is excellent. I would love to try more of the products they have to offer. Thank you for all the hard work the team puts into this store.

One of the best selections for gluten free items but the quality has decreased significantly in recent years. It is also disappointing to realize that the gluten free brownies are made with margarine, this seems like a way to cut corners and save money. A real bakery should use real butter and it is a deterrent for our family for sure.

Really love the Gluten Free Sourdough and In house Gluten Free Cheese bread. I’ve also enjoyed their gluten and dairy free cakes. 5 stars for sure.

Everything I bought was enjoyed to the max by all who ate it. They warmed up some sausage rolls for my husband that he regularly orders and loves. Got some hamburger buns that were SO fresh. One of the best lemon poppyseed muffins I’ve ever had. Even picked up some nice Kelowna organic salad dressing. My favourite purchase has to be the decorated sugar cookies. They were SO cute!
I have yet to find better GF sourdough bread than Lakeview makes- it's really outstanding. Most of their bread and buns are very good. However, I've noticed this bakery struggles with consistency in quality: the bread is often overbaked or underbaked, and the cupcakes are quite dry. The brownies and Nanaimo bar are almost always great, but their GF pastry needs work (it tastes like dense sand). Same with the cinnamon buns.
The macarons are always delicious. The other GF baked goods are hit and miss. The prices are a bit high for (somewhat) mediocre quality, especially their cakes. $45+ for an 8 inch cake is on the high end. I inquired about a discount for bulk orders of cupcakes for a party but they said they don't offer one, so I chose another vendor in that case, as $4.50/cupcake wasn't in my budget.
Overall, I really do like this place and will keep coming back because the staff are very nice and I haven't had problems when needing to exchange products that weren't quite up to standard. They also have one of the biggest selections of GF baked goods in the city. I think working on consistency and improving existing products would make this good bakery even better.

This place used to be amazing and I've been shopping here for years. Now you never know what you are going to get. Brownies hard as rocks and the recipe seems to change depending on the day you go there. I'm so disappointed and what a waste of money. I was in on Dec 1st and some of your pre-packaged items expired 16 days prior when I looked at the dates. No pride in what you are selling or care for your customers and their money.
