My son does gymnastics at the UofC, while he is in the program the rest of the family pops down to MacEwan Hall for a bite to eat. The Last Defence Lounge is always our venue of preference.
Quinn and the team make sure every experience is memorable. For instance, Quinn is prompt to arrive at your table and check in as soon as you seat yourself. He ensures you are offered a beverage and it is delivered shortly after he takes your order. He informs you about the specials and any new menu items and is very accurate when taking the order. The little things are the most noticeable. My son prefers his burger with out veggies and should the burger arrive with veggies Quinn pops by and acknowledges the mistake, while also taking note of the fact that when the veggies are removed some of the condiments have been removed with them, he returns to the table quickly with some additional sauce so that the burger isn't left to be eaten without the sauce.
All in all if you are on the UofC campus and have a minute to sit down for a bite to eat make sure you stop in and see Quinn and the rest of the team at the LDL. I promise you it won't be an experience you forget.
The inside dining room is well laid out with plenty of natural light and the quaint patio is great for a beer on a day where the weather permits.

It’s a great place to hang with friends as a uni student. Underrated place on campus! Good food, great drinks and nice pool table!

We went on their reopening day post COVID and the service was awful they were clearly understaffed. We thought we would try again on a Friday and they have three guys trying to run the whole place and seems to continue to be disorganized - they are trying to serve, bus, host, and bartend all at once. At least 20 minutes between server visits for our group. Food is great and the servers are friendly just seems poorly managed to me.

The service was a bit slow since they were busy, but delicious food loved their Buffalo chicken poutine it was very filling the gravy and chicken ratio was perfect with the fries.

We waited for 15 minutes and nobody even came to ask us for a drink! Finally, we decided to leave the restaurant! They were better before covid but now, I do not recommend them.

When you get there, sit where ever you want, they don't care anyway! While you're sitted, you have way enough time to decide where to go instead. Just make sure to take your water bottle with you.
