For a late-night spot on 17th Ave, this shawarma place hits the spot! With so many great food options in downtown Calgary, this one holds alright. The flavors are solid, and the portions are satisfying. I came later in the evening, and the staff were friendly and efficient, which is always appreciated when grabbing food later hours.
While it may not be the top spot on the strip, it’s a dependable choice for a good shawarma fix.

First time at this location. Ordered a chicken shawarma and I found it to be very tasty. I was also offered a free shake. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will frequent this lace regularly.

I've enjoyed the food here every time I come to Calgary for work. They have good flavors and portions. I hosted an event and they were extremely accommodating with the catering as well. Family style business. Highly recommend supporting them.

Today was my first time to try LAVA GRILL Chicken shawarma. My wife and were very amazed with the taste and service. I admit it was my first time to finish it and still wants more. The secret behind it the quality if chicken and also the cook was carefully asking about the topping by using the right amount to avoid the over load I experienced in different places\. The milk shake is recommended to sweeten the taste.
Big thank you to the manager on duty Sonia and Harman for making our experience enjoyable. Also the dining was very clean.

Giving a 5 star rating purely for the service. The chicken shawarma was a good wrap but not a shawarma. But the again that's most of the places in Canada. A shawarma should not have options like in a Subway sandwich or burrito. A recommendation I would give for a customer and the restaurant if they want an authentic option is to only have the garlic sauce, chicken, and pickles. Optional toppings and sauces should be hummus, tahini, and fries. Nothing else should be going into a shawarma in my opinion, at least a traditional one.
