This small spot is V special to our little gem of a community in Bonavista Downs - when we first moved into the neighbourhood it was the Magic Bowl cooking up delicious Chinese comfort food for a decent price in our little 'hood...then a few years ago Leafy Grill took over the space and renovated it beautifully, but it took them awhile to get the food, portions, quality and price just right for their target market (us!), and we became regulars, like once/month, not every day customers.
So imagine our shock this week, when we put in our regular order and the cost was up $12!!! E.g. my Chicken Korma went from $14.99 to $17. 49 in just a month! My husband's favourite Chana Masala went from $12.99 to $14.99; Garlic Na'an from $3.50 to $3.99; Jeera rice from $3.99 to $5.50 etc. etc.
Now I know groceries and food costs have not increased that much in a month or two; but maybe their rent went up? I don't know, but the cost differential was a bit too much to swallow, you know what I mean? I don't know if we'll be back as there prices were always creeping up but never this much of a leap in one go? We wish them luck, because its important we have our own little spot in the 'hood, but they can't take their spot for granted. Thanks.

I travel the whole country and the United States as a long haul truck driver… Whenever I come to Calgary, I always visit the leafy Grill because they have the best food great service and clean amenities… I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful family run restaurant please come and try it for yourself. I promise you won’t be disappointed….

I drove past Leafy Grill a few times and finally had the chance to order out some food. It was INCREDIBLE. Hands down some of the best Indian food I have had in a long time.
We tried the Chicken Korma and Lamb Vindaloo. Both were so tender, flavourful, and piping hot. The naan, I could eat that for days. It was so fresh, perfectly soft yet crispy. Just writing this review makes me want to order it again ASAP.
The staff were so friendly! Definitely want to order in next time and try a few more dishes!
Great food. Chana masala, yellow dahl are amazing. We also tried a few new things we hadn’t had before. The chicken bhuna is our new favorite. Good service too.
