Food tasted pretty good, not unforgettably great. Service was a bit slow as it took a while to serve our takeout order. Overall, it’s a nice, well decorated place to have a family dine in experience.

The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious! The assorted tempura vegetables were some of the crispiest and most flavourful tempura dishes I’ve had in town 🙏

Friendly staff

First time here. Waitress was very attentive and super friendly. The salmon sashimi was the ticket I've ever had and delish. We had 5 specialty rolls that were amazing. The rice and all ingredients were super fresh and slightly warm. Awesome! Best sushi I've had in Calgary!

Me and my daughter love this place. It’s our favourite sushi spot it’s close to home and the service is always so wonderful. We go on our mom and daughter dates to Li Ao once a month. Sometimes they give out one roll of sushi on the house for us to try. Love this place.

Charging full price for half sized rolls. Anyone that is used to standard roll sizes of 8 pieces per roll will be wildly surprised by the 4 pieces that this restaurant sells. 100% a rip off

Li-Ao Sushi in Nolan Hill is arguably among the best in its price class! Generous portions of sashimi, surprisingly nice presentation of things like the tuna tataki and excellent, friendly service means we will definitely be back!

Big bone in my Toro sashimi. Gross. Had it in my mouth. Absolutely disgusting. Low quality fish. All tasteless. Seems like it was sitting around Not fresh tasting. Salmon chewy. Way too much rice. Bummer. So expensive. Come on guys is this sushi?

Very bad customer service. They are open till 10 PM but don’t allow you when you arrive at 9:30 PM. This shows how poor customer service they provide. The server asks first how much are you gonna eat and then decides whether they allow you to dine. So overall not impressed by their service and behaviour.

We did not like the two bowls of signature ramen that we ordered. No. 172 on the menu. The ramen was missing major toppings and did not look like what was advertised. No egg, no fish cake, instead of chashu pork we got pork bacon style, noodles were over cooked and not chewy, lettuce(??) which wilted in the broth instead of nori/seaweed, corn and sautéed onions which was an unpleasant surprise. The only thing that saved the dish was the broth which was flavourful but quite watery. Overall it was a very below average experience. Quite disappointed and won’t be returning ever especially for their ramen.
