Lil’ Empire Burger - Annex Ale Location

The burger here was top notch. Very juicy, only problem is that the burger falls out of your hands, but tastes amazing. Beer was good too.

Found this little gem of a spot by accident and sure glad we did. I would say this is on my top 3 best smash burger in Calgary. The bun was soft, the meat was crispy but juicy and the sauce was on point. The dirty fries and chili fries were also a great addition to the perfect burger. There was plenty of seating and a brewery attached so we got to enjoy a nice beer with our meal.

For this amount of money - tasty. Ingredients are fresh. There’s a small disappointment, because small amount of sauce/cheese in french fries. Here is the proof. As you can see, there’s sauce just on the top, but fries are dry if you go deeper. Also, liked how packaging looked, probably the best packaging ever seen here.

Went here with my teenage son. We both loved the burgers but the in house soda pop was amazing.

Brought a friend here for their birthday. They didn’t update their hours and were closed for renos. Please update your site or hours on google I checked before we left the house.

I only had a short 2 hour window to take them out for lunch and wasted it driving here. Now they didn’t get a birthday lunch.

First time I came here, I thought it was super good— a little slow but overall good service. I’ve been back 2 other times since and I won’t go back ever again. The staff could literally care less.
They literally stopped making our order to hang A BALLOON. We waited over 20 minutes for 2 burgers because of this. Then when I said something about it, they acted like I was being rude and unreasonable?? I literally just watched your staff drop what they are doing to make sure a balloon was hung on your front counter?? Smh.
There’s also flies EVERYWHERE- it’s so gross and unsanitary.
I also watched the one woman who spent 20-30 mins trying to hang a damn balloon— go over and handle peoples buns and lettuce with unwashed bare hands.

Love Lil Empire! The burgers are out of this world delicious, though I really like the Korean Crunch sandwich. I always get the dirty fries as a side, though for those I usually like to cover them in Sriracha once I bring them home

The location is stellar, at Annex ale, which has an enormous patio

If you asked me which place in Calgary has the best burgers, I’d say lil’ empire. The buns are always so soft, the meat is nice and juicy, and the burgers are always saucy. The dirty fries are by far my favourite side dish here, cant wait to try the chilli fries next time 😋. This location specifically is great because one- it’s attached to an Annex Ale brewery, and two- there’s a lot more seating here.

I came here for lunch my second visit. Place was dead only one other table was left occupied. For some reason it took over 5 minutes to get order completed at their counter.

Tried to add a burger paddy and bacon onto a cheeseburger for $3 and $2 extra (full price) on their single burger which was on special. but the manager/agent insisted the add ons must to be on the side and are not allowed on the bun under any circumstances , even if I paid full price for the add on. Not an enjoyable dining experience.

Makes no sense to put burger toppings on the side and then force customers to place them onto the burger. They didn’t provide a fork to do this job other. Will hit up Rosie’s next time instead.

First time at lil empire and it won’t be my last! I got a double lil empire with a side of dirty fries. The burger literally melted in my mouth, this was one of the best smash burgers I’ve ever had. The lil empire sauce on the burger is amazing too. I got too excited and ate so fast I forgot to take a picture! I’ll have to do that for my next time.

Amazing burger, very tasty. Wife had the gluten free which she normally hates but commented that this bun was pretty good. Great atmosphere, except for the super loud kid at the next table, but that was more the bad parenting then the bar. Would go again.

Parking: Smaller private lot, but lots on the street it looked like

Wheelchair accessibility: It's all on one floor, and while tables would take some navigation, the bathrooms are large with full doors.
