Once upon a time I walked down Stephen Ave looking for an elevated vibe, and walked into this place, and the rest is history. I've heard similar from other people, whether casual tourists or dignitaries; even my family doctor encourages my patronage.
While I could make a long list of the great staff: my short list today is Jaxon, who always keeps the atmosphere sociable and the bar held down; the ever personable Jessica, who's always enthusiastically engaging, while also doing her thing, resolute in the various managerial duties; and Tina, ever indomitable and inspiring.

Great spot for drinks, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of pescatarian options. Our server, Madi, was an absolute delight—very friendly, kept our glasses full, and offered excellent drink suggestions. Highly recommend!

We are big fans of the wings here. Our favourite part of the weekend is when we see the best server Madi, who knows exactly what we want. We see her smiling face and the next minute- boom, WINGS. It is always a great time at Local on 8th due to Madi and of course the yummy wings.
The food wasn't anything overly special. I ordered the fried chicken ramen and that was my mistake...it was ramen mushy noodles with Mexican style and not something I'd order again. My friend got the fish & chips and didn't seem too impressed. I think it was mainly due to the Mexican spices. It was also loud and our waitress seemed impatient.
