Pricey and small dishes, server very slow and ignored your appearance. Tried to order 2nd bowl of rice and was told have to wait(rice cooker not ready). Lots of MSG and thirsty after.
The service was ok - what you'd expect for HK style dining, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable.
Unfortunately food was pretty bad. Everything was underseasoned and pretty tasteless, our pineapple sweet & sour pork tasted straight up burnt, and the half duck barely had any meat on the bones. The spicy chicken pot was the worst offender, it's like they forgot the salt and the chicken pieces were tiny and dry. I've attached a picture of how it looks on the screen and the dish that we got. I understand the picture on the bit screen was for reference only, but they definitely just took a stock image online and used it. The green bean with minced mork and steamed sea bass were alright, but it didn't make up for the rest of the food.
Restaurant looks good and foods are okay. Staff and service were terrible. I was a bit shocked of how rude the staff were. You can first tell by their attitude and facial expression. Then the way they handle your food and when you call for service.
Today was my first time visiting M Bistro with a group of 6 people for lunch. The restaurant was not full, but the server squeezed all of us into a small table. We politely requested a larger table, but they refused and said those were reserved. However, even after we finished our meal, the bigger table was still empty — which was incredibly frustrating. Strangely, those larger tables remained empty the entire hour we were there.
The small table wasn’t large enough for the number of dishes we ordered. Their cups are also unusually tall and unstable — one even spilled accidentally, soaking the entire table and the floor.
The service was poor and unprofessional - the server pretended not seeing us for help. The food quality was poor — items were deep-fried in what seemed like reused oil, leaving the food very dark and greasy. Prices were average, but not worth it given the quality. However, the bowls and cups were dirty, and the washroom was in terrible condition.
This experience was so bad that I will never return. Very disappointing. Overall, a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place. No thank you, M Bistro.
We love this place even though it’s very simple. The Peking duck is amazing, the soup they serve along with the duck is very delicious. The portions are big, and the complimentary green jasmine tea is served by default. Deserts are also great
We, and family, are frequent visitors for dim sum and usually quite enjoy our meal.
However.
Last time, we ordered two of the Steamed fish special ($20) as promoted on the video screen and special menu. We had ordered this many times in the past. After leaving, we noticed that we had been charged $40 each. Assuming it was just an oversight, we went back and explained things only to be told, quite rudely, that we had ordered live fish and would not be refunded. We did not specify live fish, were not given the choice and the fish dishes served we all agreed was exactly the same as those we remember eating on previous occasions. So, simply put, we will not be eating here anymore, not because the food isn't good (it is) but we just don't trust them anymore to go there.
Second time here, Second time disappointed and won't be back. Food was ok at best, service was about as disinterested and rude as I have ever experienced in the city.
We tried this place, amazing the food was good, clean, smell fresh fish and delicious.
The food ( Dim Sum) was excellent, maybe the best in Calgary . . The service was horrible! The waitress there made us feel like we came to eat for free , their faces was not welcome/ we just asked for hot sauce , it’s like the end of the day
We paid so much money, you should provide to us
The owner should tell them that if they give the good service and has service mind will get more tip and made more money ! So they won’t look so mad and miserable every times we went there
The product/food was good, but the service was absolutely unacceptable. The receptionist, specifically the young woman with glasses, had a rude and unprofessional attitude that made the experience frustrating and unpleasant. Such behavior is completely inappropriate for someone in a customer-facing role. I expect much better service and hope this issue is addressed immediately to avoid driving customers away.

Really don’t understand how the owner of this restaurant does business. The service is unbelievably bad, to the point that it's hard to imagine. Our group of 12 requested the waiter to arrange a larger table for us. They heard the request but gave no response (later I found out that the larger table was reserved for the staff to have their lunch). Additionally, we asked the waiter for an extra pot of tea, but were refused because they have a rule that each table can only have one pot of tea despite we were a group of 12. It feels like this restaurant expects you to tip, but doesn’t provide any extra service in return. Will you be mad if you were me? Please don’t, just remember not everyone knows how to run business.

Don’t waste your money here. I came in on a Sunday night and it was a little busy, but that’s no excuse for the absolute poor service we had. The service felt rude and pushy, and we waited almost 30 minutes for our last dish when we had already had everything else on our table. Just not worth it to me, especially with the food being nothing special. Would not recommend.
