My FAVORITE bar in the city that happens to be vegan and delicious. My friend and I can't seem to find a place that exudes the same quirky, mellow, and tasteful vibe that Magpie has and nor do we want to. All of the staff that work there have wonderful personalities that are eccentric and easy to get along with. Josh is also someone that cares a lot about his craft(s), and I deeply respect that. Magpie may be one of the few reasons I decide to stay in Calgary for longer!

Quirky, dark, and intimate spot for creative cocktails and small plates. They have an extensive cocktail menu which was divided by flavor profile. Our waitress was very helpful in giving recommendations. I enjoyed the Haymaker and Naked & Famous. Their drinks are quite strong (2-3 oz), so drink with care! Their food menu is entirely vegan. I had the vegan lobster roll, which imitated the flavor and texture of lobster quite well. The space is VERY compact, with only bar seating and a few high tops, so I highly recommend making a reservation. There is plenty of free street parking in the evenings, and it is very conveniently located between downtown and Inglewood.

I came here a while ago but love a vegan cocktail bar, and glad it's central. The food was sooooo good and I hope to come back. It's a bit of a small place but it makes for a good hole in the wall type place! Owner is cool too.

One of the best vegan places I’ve ever been to! The dry ribs and the tajin lemon garlic aioli wings were incredible! The price was also very fair for the quality and quantity of the food — definitely will be coming here again soon!

Great atmosphere, unbelievable cocktails and Josh always has some great music playing. Something to be said about a cocktail lounge and vinyl

Cute quirky little vegan spot. Highly recommend the jerk flavoured wings, and the dry ribs. Service was great. One of my fav spots for vegans in the city.

I’ve gone here twice for cocktails/mocktails, and both times were excellent! Popped in yesterday after checking out the Stampede grounds and the service was great. The bartender was wonderful, and made an excellent mocktail for my partner as well. Definitely would recommend!
Terrible service. I don’t recommend
Funky, cool place, but their menu is a bit confusing = it's ALL plant-based! The dumplings and lobster sandwich are amazing.
✨️ best bar ever!
