There aren't a lot of options for Malaysian food in Calgary so I was excited to try this place. I had already seen reviews talking about the high prices. But on the other hand, I had seen reviews talking about how delicious it is and how it is like eating the food in Malaysia. So I was still eager to try this spot. However, I truly understand now what people were talking about in some of the reviews, but unfortunately not the good ones. For me, the high prices really didn't justify the food served. I tried the lakhsa and nasi lemak both $19.50 each. Portion was truly small, and I don't eat a lot in general but I was still hungry after. Taste was good but not so amazing that I think it is worth the price and worth going back.

Such delicious and warm food! The chicken curry and rice was delicious, flavorful and was perfectly cooked. The laksa was warm and was full of shrimp, egg and chicken, perfect for a cool fall day. The food was cooked fast and there was plenty of space to sit. Will definitely be coming back here to try the other options :)

The Laksa Noodles was such a unique and region specific take on Laksa. They ran out of Rendang, but definitely will come back for it.

The food was good and nice to try out Malaysian food for the first time. Variety of drink options and would come back to try more of them as they sound interesting. The space is small so it can be tricky to sit and chat depending on the time you go. Owner was lovely.

Very disappointing. We had Nasi Lemak with chicken curry and Laksa. Taste is decent, but the portion doesn’t do justice to the price. They don’t give enough ikan bilis. I had the Laksa and got bad stomach afterwards.

Oh. My. God.!!!!! As a Malaysian, this restaurant is SO good! The prices are a bit steep for what it is BUT it is SO worth…It’s WAY better than buying a ticket to Malaysia and buying the food there! 😆 it’s like they cooked it back home and teleported it here. You can tell the ingredients they use are quite fresh and they make the great effort to bring it from afar (hence the price). The service is very good. The restaurant is very clean and comfortable. I really hope this business is successful so it can expand, they are so worth it and deserve it! Thank you! Keep up the amazing work. Can’t wait to taste new dishes like chicken soto or Malaysian dessert.

Nice little spot for some Malaysian food. I tried Nasi Lemak with beef. I really like the sambal here. The food was okay. Not much meat in the dish and the temperature of ingredients is different.

Lemon iced tea is not bad, a bit sweet for me.

Incredible Malay food! Having grown up in Malaysia, it was serious comfort food for us. Tasted incredible with vibrant flavors of East Malaysia’s Sabah & Sarawak, along with Peninsula Malaysia’s traditional food. Nasi Lemak was a staple growing up and it hit the spot. Roti canai was flakey and easily tore so that you could dip it in the saus kari (curry sauce). The Kari Ayam (chicken curry) and the Laksa Lemak (a creamy curry noodles) were equally delicious. Following up was the F&N and Milo drinks that brought us back to our favorite childhood memories.

The staff was excellent and spoke a bit of Bahasa Melayu with us. Food arrived very quickly. Environment was a fun, intimate setting and allowed for us to easily share the meals family-style.

You’ll pay more than traditional Malay prices (obviously) and compared to other Southeast Asian restaurants, it might be on the more expensive end. However, it was completely worth it for those who long for good Malay food and we will definitely be adding it to our date night routine!

Very hard to find free parking, finally we got it free parking on the other side of Ctrain rail, then walked to find the Makan restaurant, got a table for two, the restaurant was full at 7 pm, the food was good, the server was only one, waited the order for while.
