Nice atmosphere. Nice staff. Ok service. Tiny and crowded room. Overpriced/'upscale' food that doesn't taste quite like authentic Mexican food - everything we ate (3 different types of tacos, elote, and chips/guac) was pretty bland tbh. The cocktails were great. If you're looking for good Mexican food, this isn't the spot. If you're looking for drinks and a cool room, maybe. Tried it out of curiosity because we are in the neighborhood and have heard about it. Wouldn't go back for the food, wouldn't recommend it.

Took my daughters and son in law here after hearing good reviews. None of us enjoyed the experience. Very smoky ( duck fat on the grill ) very bad service , no dedicated waitstaff . We were seated by the front door , had to keep asking for service as someone came around to look at computer. We’re never offered a second drink and by the time someone came back we didn’t want one . Waited forever for chips ( seemed to be poured out of a bag ) to go with our flight of dips and then there was about 5 chips each. Had to order a second bowl to use up dips. We asked for vegetarian to come separate from meat tacos as my husband and I don’t eat meat. When they came all mixed up my daughter mentioned that we didn’t want meat on the veggies and the staff seemed to be put off . Totally disappointed and it was for a birthday present!
Vegetarian options: Don’t get excited about the fact there are vegetarian options , the tofu tacos were okay , the eggplant ones were not. Very hard to chew , I did not eat . When I mentioned it to our waitress I was told at least you ate the tofu one!!!!

Came in off a recommendation from a friend and they did not disappoint! The chicken tinga taco was out of this world! Service was awesome and attentive! Will most definitely be back.

I really enjoyed the food, the tacos and calamari were great. The drinks could have been better and perhaps space to hang jackets/purses. We did have to wait 20 minutes or so past our reso for a table as well. I would still come back for the food and service!

My wife and I just dinned here tonight, the food was great, and the atmosphere was very nice. It was our 3 year anniversary, and we were hoping to have an amazing dinner. We got there and were sat right away, got drinks right away, and same for our food. Which was great! But from there on… the waitress was HORRIBLE. My wife and I had finished our food and drinks and waited over 35 minutes for her to even come back over to get our tray. Let alone the additional 10 minutes to wait for her to actually come back to see if we were ready for the bill. We wanted another drink, and she seemed so mad about it? After she gave us a drink menu she immediately told us that we have exactly 25 minutes till they take our table??? Note: we’ve only been there not even an hour… Like? I’m sorry? I had made a reservation, and booked my table? Everyone else walked in. We stated on our reservation that it was our anniversary. The table to the right of us was there before we even sat down and they had food and drinks already before we even said hi to our waitress. She never even mentioned that they needed to leave/had a timeframe for their table. I’m sorry but that’s absolutely insane. I’ve worked over 5+ shitty and high end restaurant jobs and you NEVER rush a reservation or honestly anyone. Especially when we had done nothing, but wait for over 35+ minutes to even be checked on. You’re getting paid, tips and all. The food was good, but the service was terrible… This honestly was our first and last time going. Really unfortunate, as this place has a lot of potential! And I’m not trying to be a Karen, I’m 25 and I’m so tired of being disrespected by others around me. Also for $200+ for tocos and drinks you’d expect nicer service.

So excited that this groovy resto has landed in our neighborhood! We were headed home after happy hour at Side Hustle (also lovely) and thought we’d see if they could squeeze us in for a margarita and taco. On a Saturday night at 7!! They did! And we enjoyed the dangersome Habanero margarita, panko battered calamari (perfect for two to share) and a medley of creative tacos - Koran fish taco, el pastor (pork and pineapple YUM), eggplant and the Gobernador (shrimp). Described as Mexican taco fusion, I loved it all! Thanks for squeezing us in :-)

It has potential with room for improvement. The vibe creates the atmosphere and it comes across as a step above casual. Like an upscale bar, reflected in the prices and environment. The cocktails were good, but not a fan of their margaritas. The birria tacos were the best of all the ones we tried. Found the service to be lacking, it was the worst part of the experience. Servers were unattentive and constantly on their phones the bar also slightly unprofessional in attitude and attire.

My boyfriend (26M) and I (24F) tried Masa Mama for date night. The atmosphere was fantastic—intimate, cozy, and perfect for a night out. However, for those with dietary restrictions, this place might not be ideal.
The menu uses icons for vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free items, but these only apply to the fillings, not the entire dish. For example, their white flour tortillas are fried in duck fat, even for “vegetarian” options. As a pescatarian, I asked for corn tortillas instead, but one taco still arrived with a flour tortilla, and halfway through eating it, I realized it contained duck fat—ironically, it was the eggplant taco labeled vegetarian.
Additionally, I saw a kitchen staff member sneeze into their hands and continue food prep without washing up, which was pretty off-putting, especially while sitting at the bar.
Masa Mama has great potential with its ambiance, but they need to improve menu accuracy for dietary labels and address basic hygiene practices. Mistakes like these can be serious for those with allergies or strict dietary needs.

I recently visited Masa Mama and it was incredible! The tacos were bursting with authentic flavors, made with fresh ingredients, and perfectly seasoned. Each one was a delight, with something for everyone to enjoy.
The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. You can tell the owner and team are passionate about what they do, and it shows in every detail.
If you’re a taco lover or just looking for amazing food, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!
