Mercato is not inexpensive, but it is absolutely worth the money. The food is refined, delicious and consistent. The service is truly exceptional - the staff has been there forever and for a good reason. Just go and enjoy!

We had a really great time last time we ate here for my mom's birthday, so we decided to do a lunch during the long weekend. We had no problem with the food and with the service we received. However, out of all the high-top tables and chairs in the restaurant, they sat a large group beside my family, and the restaurant was not as busy at this point (just after the lunch rush and before dinner). There was another high top table just on the other side of the pillar, but this loud group was placed right beside us and it affected our experience.

The food was exceptional: the steak was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful; the pasta was al dente with a perfect balance of flavors; the seafood, including mussels, was incredibly fresh; and the dessert simply melted in our mouths. The service was also top-notch — our server was incredibly attentive, helping us choose dishes and wine, all while being friendly and professional. Sorry guys, your salads aren’t worth $33. I believe you’ve crossed the edge of what people justify value. You’ll start to see a decline in customers next year - I promise you.

Prices are getting out of hand! For basic, simple dishes and side dishes that are basically soulless, you're paying as if it contains the cure for Dementia. We are talking green beans here, sauteed green beans. Roasted chicken with basic flavour. Regular uncomplicated pasta. As a European I can comfortably say: Canadian gastronomy is tragic, uninspired, soulless and unjustifiably expensive. For a fraction of the price? Sure. But not this much: It's not enjoyable anymore. I'm flying back to eat food with some heart and soul.
