A great spot for traditional Danish food as well as some other Canadian favourites.

Super great food, and a real Danish atmosphere! Plus, if you can stop by while a market or event is happening upstairs, there's usually a bit of imported food and home made crafts too!

Had pork roast with cracklings, potatoes gravy and red cabbage. Rice pudding with saskatoon berry sauce for dessert. All very tasty and well prepared.
Glad to be able to return for great food andGreat service.
Good place for lunch and dinner.
Had dinner with a couple of friends at the Mermaid Inn, Danish Canadian Cultural Centre last night, 29 November 2019. The dining room is so cozy, not overly fancy, but felt like a cozy warm home on a cold winter night. The service was prompt. Our friendly waitress checked on us without intruding on our privacy. I ordered the Danish pork sausage in a rich gravy with boiled potatoes and braised sweet cabbage. I asked for a side of spicy mustard, which they provided graciously, and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The portion was generous, it was filling but not overly so. Just right. I was disappointed in my dessert. I ordered the apple pie with ice cream. The pie tasted like a grocery store pie. Not great. I will return sometime and try one of their traditional appetizers (marinated herring on rye bread with pickled onions and cukes). Well done to the cooks and servers at Mermaid Inn. We had a lovely time lingering over dessert and coffee. Thank you all for your kind hospitality.

Saturday brunch is always amazing, it's our favorite place to go for a special occasion with the family.
Delicious platter of goodness. Surprisingly tasty coleslaw which is normally a gross filler. So full, leftovers for two more meals. Value beyond words

If you’re in Calgary and in the mood for Danish specialty food then the Mermaid Inn, part of the local Danish club, is the place to go. The menu has a good variety of Danish classic dishes the staff is very friendly and the prices are very fair.
