Mestizo Mexican St Food

Wasn’t craving tacos but I saw a plate and had to stop here. I had a Chorizo, Shrimp and Saudero taco and definitely some of the best and most authentic I’ve had outside of Mexico. Stellar meal!
I’d give 10/5 if I could.
Only bad thing is I might be addicted to this place now!

Long overdue review. The tacos here make such an unforgettable impression that you can’t help but come back. The best part, The wonderful staff who remember you, your usual order, specification, even if it’s been a while since your last visit. He reminds me of my grandson as he wears eyeglasses and always smiles at everyone when he takes our orders. To the owners of the stall, please keep him as it is rare to find a place where we feel a warm presence even if we’re just ordering food, a warm feeling that feels at home. Sorry for being dramatic for a bit, but as I say this is long overdue. Brisket would be my best pick whenever I go here. Bring your family here, you will always feel welcomed. Thank you.

Charming little hole in the wall place, so glad we stumbled upon it! Just stopped for a little snack but cant wait to return with my appetite and try all the other tacos!!

Was looking for a good birria tacos, found this place online. It's in a food market with lots of other unique food options around. My gf and I ordered the quesabirria taco. It was AMAZING. The second we finished our tacos, we decided to immediately get 2 more. The 2nd one was just as delicious as the 1st. Will be back for sure.

Delicious! Flavourful and everything was made gluten-free! We went back for more after our first order. The cochinita pibil tacos were unreal, highly recommend. Looking forward to going back!

Absolutely everything! Don’t BOTHER !!! Called in our order for pick up from the South Location. Mestizo was chosen for my husband’s birthday dinner July 10 2025. Our bill was approximately 90$ for 3 adults and 1 child. The food portions we received were completely unacceptable We ordered Barria tacos which apparently because we did not order them correctly! So this is a customer problem !! We are at fault !! Yet this is what a Barria taco is described as when you search how it is cooked !! Corn tortillas are dipped in the rich red birria consommé (the broth) and then fried on a griddle. This gives the tortilla a reddish, slightly crispy exterior. Here at Mesitzo unless you order this as fried they do not do that !!! Very odd considering every other Mexican Restaurant I’ve been to seems to get this correct. We ordered a kids Quesadilla: yet another disappointment this was the smallest corn tortilla possible with cheese in it and fried !! How cheap it’s not even enough to even feed a 2 year old and it was disgusting . I threw it out and made my child a Ham Sandwich . We order salsa and guacamole they forgot this yet we paid for it. We did call when we saw items were missing they said drive back and we will give it to you we forgot to put it in the bag ! Again not a me problem !! We spoke to the fact that the Barria Tacos were not as expected here’s where they told us we needed to order it this way. At some point when you realize a customer who spent 90$ is not happy and you are a small business you need to step up because I have told people about this horrible experience and now I’m writing about it. Maybe these people can figure out number one how to cook food properly and offer quality and quantity number two do you want return business ? Then act that way !!!

I ordered thru skip a tortilla soup as well as a brisket taco and a sirloin taco. Unfortunately this is the worse Mexican I have had delivered to me via skip and that includes taco time. I hope the experience is different when there in person but the soup was very bitter and tasted as though the broth had being simmering for many days, there was only bitterness not any zing or freshness. Both tacos the meat was so so dry and burnt and again tasted as though it was days old. I was only packed 1 little sauce fore the 2 tacos so the dryness was not helped. Maybe just a spot to visit not order from but I will do neither again.
