The food was very good. It has some of the best sushi currently in town, reminiscent of one of our old favorites that closed down.

Our favorite sushi place!!
We've tried many different restaurants and keep coming back to Miku. Excellent quality, great service and very reasonably priced. The owner Mr. Long is awesome. Thank you!!

I have been to many Japanese restaurants, but this one really gave me a big surprise! The sushi rolls are great! The ingredients are full! I like to order takeaway, and the packaging of the restaurant is also very good ? I recommend it to friends who like Japanese food.

Disappointing and a rip-off in one aspect. The special rolls were pretty good, but everything else was extremely subpar:

- The bento box was served in a SOFT PLASTIC disposable container. Taste was just okay.
- The tofu in the miso soup was tiny (literally fingernail size) and used firm tofu, making it unpleasant to eat.
- The side salad was literally just lettuce with thousand island dressing. You could make this at home in seconds.
- The salmon tataki's sauce was mostly just salty. There was some sourness, but no sweetness and no refreshing flavour of citrus that's supposed to come from the ponzu.

This is Japanese-style cuisine rather than actual Japanese food, and the flavours reflect that; most of the dishes tasted of just soy sauce, without the proper balance of sweetness and other notes. I came here because of the high rating, but I'm getting the feeling that everyone either only had rolls (which were a solid 4/5 for the two that we got), or never tried the several other significantly better restaurants in Calgary at the same price point.

Lastly--and the main reasoning for the low overall rating despite the higher breakdown ratings--is the way the tea was handled. Green tea was ~$1.79, which is fine on its own, and our party of two were served one pot and one cup. We asked for an extra cup (which took two asks to get), and the server retrieved it for us with a simple "sure".

Then we were hit with a double charge for this tea on the bill. When I asked about it, that same server said that they charged by cup. At that time I just said "oh okay..." and left normally, but the more I thought about it, the more ridiculous this felt:

Imagine buying a drink and then asking for an extra cup. It's not a takeout cup so you don't get to keep it. It's literally just an EMPTY CUP. And we were /charged/ for this EMPTY CUP. If you're going to double charge, should've we have received two pots of tea? All we got was one pot of tea and one /EMPTY CUP/. And if you're going to charge for this EMPTY CUP, then you should've told us when we asked for one. Yes it's a relatively small amount of money, but it's still daylight robbery.

The service was otherwise mild and friendly, which is why I gave it 3 stars (docked one point for this and one more point for having to get up and ask for a menu when the restaurant was completely empty), but this particular point I can't forgive. It's like asking for an extra fork or plate at any other restaurant and then seeing it on your bill. Combined with the overall subpar taste and plastic boxes for a $17 dish, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they happen to be in the area and are getting only rolls.

Great food and even better service! We brought our 1 year old and they treated us with respect and care. They cleaned the high chair right before giving to us, provided a plastic bowl and plastic cutlery for the baby, and his own cup with a straw.
When the restaurant goes above and beyond for our child, I am thoroughly impressed.
Thanks for the great meal!!

Kid-friendliness: They provided plastic cutlery and dishes especially for our baby, a cup of water with a straw, cleaned the high chair immediately before use, and treated us and our infant with respect.

Been here many times after a workout for a good reason, prices are fair and the portions of the Sashimi are really good. I was recommended the Toro today and it actually melted in my mouth. Always a great spot to eat yourself into a sushi coma! 6/5 stars if I could! I got stood up on a date one time here and I still had a great experience due to the staff and food.

Order the tonkatsu and try and eat it when it’s fresh, in the restaurant if you can. Very cheap and comes with a side of miso soup and salad. Better than anything I’ve ever had in Canada and close to some places in Japan. Sushi is also insanely cheap for the quality and might honestly be the best value in all of Calgary.

ordered a set for a party. surprisingly, the cheapest rolls were the tastiest - yam and with artificial crab. maki with fish were poorly rolled, nori did not stick to nori, half fell apart right away. the size of the rolls themselves is not big, but there is quite a lot of filling in relation to rice. not bad, but I will hardly order again
