This was our first time dining at Model Milk, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. There were three of us—my husband, our four-year-old daughter, and me—and we all felt genuinely welcomed the moment we walked in. The service was excellent throughout the evening: attentive without being intrusive, plates cleared promptly, and water glasses refilled before we even had to ask.
We ordered the oysters, calamari fricassee, beef tartare, tomato spaghetti, the Floating Stone 18oz ribeye, and the Model Milk apple pie. Every dish was outstanding, with rustic, comforting flavors that really stood out. We honestly forgot to take photos of the calamari, tartare, spaghetti, and apple pie because we couldn’t wait to dig in—and we definitely weren’t disappointed. The apple pie with the cheddar crust was a standout; absolutely delicious with the perfect balance of savory and sweet. My husband isn’t usually an apple pie fan, but even he loved it.
As parents, we also really appreciated how thoughtful the staff were during our “date night” with our little one. They interacted with her, made her feel included, and were incredibly helpful throughout the meal. Even better, our mini foodie loved the food just as much as we did. Overall, a fantastic experience—we’ll definitely be back!

I've only had the apple pie here but it was really good! The atmosphere up in the mezzanine area was impeccable, it was great overlooking the restaurant and the kitchen. Friendly service and I would like to try the rest of the menu next time.

The 3 apps were very good. Potato buns with honey butter was my husbands favourite, my favourite was the shrimp toasty (H said it did not taste that unique compared to other places), and the calamari. We wished the calamari came with its own bread or noodles.
I mostly came for the fried chicken as it’s one of my favourite foods. My husband got the burger which I was skeptical of, but we liked it more than the fried chicken.
MY FRIED CHICKEN WAS RAW INSIDE! It was literally pink inside and tasted bloody when I bit near the bone. I ended up not eating the meat as I’m pregnant and bacteria from undercooked food can cause miscarriage. The skin was also not crispy at all and just fell off. The server told us it would be 7/10 spicy, but my husband and I agreed it was more like a 2 and that the calamari was actually more spicy. My husband said it just tasted like a honey dip.
The burger was overall good but the bun got soggy wet almost instantly from juices. Also the patty had some hard bits that I picked out, like grinded up hard tendon. We both enjoyed the fries, every single one was crispy and seasoned well.
The fried chicken was so disappointing… the biscuits it came with were also very hard, not flakey in the slightest. It did have a mild cheddar taste?
Overall I would not come back again, maybe to try the apple pie.

We haven't been to model milk since Covid. The vibe of the restaurant has changed for the better...even better! The menu was filled with options we haven't tried before. Everything we tried was amazing! We'll be back!
Such a creative menu. Every item is unique, you won't see it anywhere else, and even though I don't know exactly what I'm ordering I have complete trust that it will be delicious. So so good!
