Modern Steak Southport Road

This is the second time we have been here and It is incredible. We had the privilege of having Andy as our server and he was nothing short of amazing. Both times we have been here, the customer service has been top notch. I am also grateful that Natasha stopped by our table to say hi. She helped out a bit last time as well and is such a sweet human. Definitely our new spot to go for a nice dinner out. Thank you Modern for making our anniversary celebration so special.

Always a favourite restaurant when visiting Calgary. Jeremy went above and beyond with his impressive knowledge of the menu and wine. The absolute best beef carpaccio too!

Dined at this establishment earlier last week and experienced an out of this world level of hospitality from the staff of Modern Steak! Our server Jeremy was an absolute delight and displayed an exemplary expertise on diverse spirits and cocktails that would not only enhance our entrees but also were unique and Something we haven’t tried prior. Wes was also fantastic and heightened our experience tremendously with his hard work and exceptional hospitality skills. The steaks were prepared to perfection and were plated and brought to the table very efficiently. Would definitely recommend this establishment!

The service and overall environment were pretty nice, clean and well organized.

The food didn't deliver on the quality, specifically the steaks. The meat was tough and full of connective tissue, fat cap wasn't trimmed and took up the majority share of what was on the plate. I would have been embarrassed to feed the steaks our table had to guests in my own home for free.

Side dishes were all pretty good though.

It was a privilege to be taken care of by Jeremy. Extravagant Tastes on the Wagyu, it was much worth our time.

To start service was good, server was kind and attentive so was the manager that stopped by however there must be a miss with the kitchen. We ordered 3 steak, ribeye, tenderloin and strip loin along with some sides. We waited for over an hour between appetizer and steak. The meat was good quality but everything was cold including our sides I was surprised by this as I have dined at modern steak downtown many times and it has always been great. May have been an off night or our meal was forgotten and left sitting, either way it was disappointing for the price point.

'Date Night' reservations were great. You can't get a better server than we had (Haley), and I definitely recommend the truffle fries. Our medium steaks were closer to medium rare but still delicious (I don't send food back). Will definitely go back for a full dinner.

We've tried out all the Modern Steak locations in Calgary, and this is by far our favourite. We love the filet mignon tasting menu, and they come out perfectly cooked with a lovely accompaniment of three salt options on the side. Our server was amazing and gave us an excellent wine recommendation to pair with our meal. He suggested some of their best sides, and we were so pleased with the entire meal and visit overall. We felt very special and well taken care of the entire night, and we weren't even celebrating anything! The level of service and food quality is something I wish we could get at every restaurant.

Just a fabulous Mother Son Date Night!!

We have been here before, never disappoints ?

Tonight we had Madison, she was beyond lovely, great server and did an amazing job taking care of us. Shout out to the lovely staff but an extra loud shout out to Madison for making a kinda rough day better!!

Best restaurant I have been to in Calgary, sincerely. Went here with my fiancé for her birthday. Everything was impeccable. Our server was excellent, the food was delicious and the restaurant was immaculate. I cannot recommend this place enough. Will be returning without a doubt.

Really great service and some incredible dishes.

Highlights were the Whipped feta & onion appetizer, and the Parmesan risotto w/ short rib. Maybe the best side dishes I've ever had.

The steak fell a little short for the price but was still good. Lacked a bit of flavour.

I would definitely go back (if I can afford it)!

Kid-friendliness: Probably not a great place for kids. It's very classy, quiet, and relaxing.
