Sadly their brunch buffet has gone so far downhill from what it used to be. Not worth going. They don’t even have eggs Benedict. There are far better brunch buffets in Calgary.
When we arrived and through our entire visit the staff were very nice. The restaurant looked clean but there wasa. Table of rowdy people behind us that probably shouldn't have been getting served more alcohol and were quite annoying. The staff didn't say anything to them but it kind of soured the atmosphere for us.
The food looked really good and the flavors were decent. The only downside was anyone who had chicken which was most of us found that thr chicken breast was dried out completely. I had the Mojave hot chicken sandwich which was absolutely huge, the level of heat was good, the batter on the chicken was good and the pickles were very nice. The downside again was the chicken was a breast and was dried out. If I had a suggestion it would be to use thighs instead of breasts and the sandwich would have been amazing. The Jalapeño corn chowder was quite good and I liked that they had the sense to add the potatoes near the end so they weren't total mush. Well played chef.
We were really disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. The food took 30-35 minutes to come out and we barely saw our waitress. We got the beef dip, chow mein noodle bowl and prime rib Saturday special. Beef dip sandwich was very bland, yam fries were soggy, chow mein noodles were very salty but somehow also very sweet and the best part of the prime rib dish was the potatoes (there was 3-4 sides plus prime rib). Near the end of the meal, a waiter named Doug took over our table and he was the only positive aspect of the dining experience.
I’m honestly shocked at some of the good reviews for this place. We went for the prime rib buffet and it was disappointing to say the least. We arrived at 6:30, and almost all of the food was cold. The prime rib was incredibly fatty, and I watched people grab food items with their bare hands- yuck! Not to mention we saw fresh food dumped onto the old and cold food. The buffet selection itself was pretty minimal overall.
Our waitress was absolutely fabulous, and was the only saving grace of the meal. However, she alone was not worth spending an eye watering $175 (including tip) for two people.
Not recommended from us.
Weeeeell spent $171 for two people, had the buffet and it was cold but the wait staff was awesome. Would I return? When I grow wings and fly over the moon.
Came here for the mother's Day dinner buffet and am so glad I did!! Everything was amazing and perfectly cooked!
The star of the show was the prime rib- med rare and perfectly melt in your mouth tender!
They also had a great variety of hot foods, seafood station and dessert station including a Chocolate fountain! It was $56 pp but given the huge range and the quality of foods it was absolutely well worth it.
It was also very family friendly and lots of families with young kids were there.
Can't wait to go back for the next event!
I am expecting big time because we spent $600+ for Mother’s day and expecting my kids will enjoy it but that didn’t happen. Not enough food selection for the kids, the steak; you can’t even choose the way how you like it to be cooked. Oysters were soooooo small and not even fresh. Too much selection of sweets. Salmon was so dry. I saw one table near us that poor grandma did not enjoy her steak and you know what she did, she covered the steak with napkin. Please do not this again on Father’s day!
Had soft tacos....
Dry, no taste. Chicken was rubbery and tasted like it was warmed up in microwave. Had to ask for dour cream to get some flavor in it. Waitress forgot until she say me looking at her.
Will not be back, disappoint food quality, portions and atmosphere. Do NOT recommend.
Jill was a great server she helped us plenty, she talked to us and was overall a very kind warm hearted and welcoming person, she was very very kind to all of us and made sure we were okay. Promote her she deserves it 👍😀 If you ever see her make sure to say hi and she will for sure say hi back she’s an amazing person and has an amazing heart.

Do not recommend it. Very poor food. Do not understand why you are so busy. Wish I could tip Wait staff only
Went for the New Years Eve buffet. The pros- decent selection and variety. The tuna and the prime rib received good reviews at our table. Lobster was pretty watery, flavorless and had simply been recently thawed. The Lamb was well-liked.
Cons - dessert table was emptied out an hour before the buffet closed. By the time we could flag down an employee, they simply shrugged their shoulders and said buffet was closing down soon. We mentioned it had been cleared out WELL over half an hour ( more like 45 mins) before that and patrons were waiting around assuming more was coming.
They offered us a dessert off the menu in replacement. The creme Brule was excellent, the others mediocre. Yorkshire pudding was overcooked and pretty cardboard-y.
Service left a lot to be desired. While our plates were intermittently picked up ( which is great) , not one person refilled our waters until the bill was brought. Ordered a coke that never came. An 18% gratuity was added, which was a little irritating as we'd had zero drink service and had to fight over half an hour just to get a dessert, which was supposed to be part of the buffet.
Overall, not the worst, but definitely not the best.
After a great disappointment with smuggler's prime rib we went to Mohave grill for their prime rib buffet which is on Fridays and Saturdays. I highly recommend their Prime rib buffet. It was outstanding. We have found a new place to go with all of our friends in the future. So far Smuggler's gets 0 stars. The Keg gets 4 stars out of 5 stars and the Mohave grill so far get 5 out of 5 stars. Enjoy.
Went for prime rib all you can eat. I really enjoyed the service, atmosphere and the prime rib itself. Nothing else aside those; the sides were extremely limited, poor variety of food and meats.
Yullia was kind and fast, food was delicious and hot!
Recommend their hot chicken burger!
