Monsoon has repeatedly given us top tier service and great food. All at a good price. Definitely me and my fiances favourite spot for sushi. The people working here are always so damn friendly and happy to see us. Such a goated restaurant

We got the oysters, a bit small but super fresh. I came in today kind of tired, but we were greeted by the jolliest man I’ve ever met, it immediately made my night. We also got the seafood fried rice, monsoon special roll, as well as the spicy delux ramen. All the food tasted amazing and was a decent size for the price. The lighting was a bit dim that it was hard to see the menu where we were seated. Service was amazing and very entertaining, for sure will be coming back!

Awesome service, very cool place with friends or a date. Good flavor with huge menu and assortment of specials and unique selections. Cool atmosphere and vibe.

Beautiful restaurant with delicious food and over the top service. All the staff were patient, kind, and were more than willing to give us the help and service we needed. Our server was Kumiko and she was very kind and gave us great service. Andy was also very helpful on top of being filled with energy, which definitely improved our moods after a long day. Will come again :)

Where to start?! Everything was perfect.
This was my first experience in this restaurant. First and foremost- ambient was amazing and a warm and sincere greeting when we came in as well. I had a seezling plate with chicken, cabbage and a corn. Also I had a garlic broccolini and salmon crackers.
Everything was so delicious and fresh, I even find it better quality ingredients than rest of the Japanese restaurants around.

We recently hosted a birthday dinner for our friend at Monsoon Izakaya. The pros included excellent service and super friendly staff, creating a great atmosphere that made the evening enjoyable. However, the cons were significant. The food was mediocre: the sashimi was tasteless, the sushi rolls were unevenly cut, and the ramen was lukewarm. The most shocking discovery was when we tried the fresh open oysters. To our dismay, the staff washed each oyster under a running tap after shucking, which completely drained the flavor. This might be the first and only time we visit this restaurant.

This is definitely one of our favourite restaurants in Calgary. Exceptional customer service by Andy and Edward. Monsoon has a rather laid-back and cozy ambient with a fun approach. If you're celebrating a birthday make sure to let front staff know. Servers are friendly and very well trained. For example Julia is always on top of everything making sure we are taken care of. But the main thing is the food which is very enjoyable. I recommend salmon sashimi, seared salmon sashimi, tuna sashimi, dynamite rolls, ocra, house salad and broccolini. We dine here at least twice per month. Highly recommended.

Everyone was super nice and efficient. Food was alright. Weird smell in the bathroom area which messed with me. Overall good experience though.

Have been here fairly often and was good but last time the overall quality seemed to be lacking. The sushi seemed a bit old. Like it had been sitting out for a bit and then re heated. And the Ramen seemed ok..
It’s all pretty cheap and that checks out. Next time will go somewhere else on McLeod trail.

I had a bad experience with this place a few months ago, but thought I’d give them another shot. Tonight’s order included bad fish (old and fishy smell) with rice falling apart and generally unappetizing food, including sloppy rolls. It was the worst sushi experience we have had. Threw out over half of a very expensive order. Won’t order from here again.

Been here on numerous accounts. Some of my favorite sushi places to eat at! Hospitality and service is always great and food is consistently good. Some of my personal favorites include the red ramen and aburi scallop roll.
