Nick's Steakhouse & Pizza

Deadly food.

This is a great place to eat! Had one of the best pizzas in my life here, the meatball pizza. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they have great cocktails and a decent beer selection. I have to go back and try the steaks and appetizers I didn't get to on our first visit!

We confirmed twice with Nick’s Steakhouse — once in 2023 and again four weeks ago — that their pizza sauce did not contain garlic, as my mother-in-law has an intolerance and is vegetarian. Both times we were told it was safe.

During our visit, our server Keaton (who was fantastic and deserves recognition) let us know the sauce does contain garlic. Thanks to him, we avoided a serious issue. My mother-in-law ended up having to use tomato ketchup as her pizza base — completely unacceptable after all the prior communication.

Unfortunately, the owner’s response was dismissive — simply stating “it wasn’t me who replied to your email” and offering a half-hearted “sorry.” That’s not acceptable when it comes to dietary needs.

We won’t be back. Poor communication and lack of accountability overshadowed what could have been a good experience.

We went to Nick's Steakhouse & Pizza for a casual lunch and were genuinely impressed!
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the staff made us feel right at home.
We started with crispy calamari and ribs - cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. I had the Diavolo pizza with spicy pepperoni, sausage and a drizzle of honey - absolutely delicious and full of flavour.
My partner had the steak with mashed potatoes and vegetables - juicy, well seasoned and cooked just right.
And their crispy chicken deserves a sixth star.
The portions were generous, everything was fresh and you could tell they really care about quality.
The perfect place for a cosy midday lunch.
We've been there a few times and will definitely be back!

The steaks tasted like they were fried and not charred, barely warm with no flavour. Veggies were all dried up, including the potato and shriveled and again no flavour. Haven’t been here for years because it wasn’t great last time, but because the reviews were hit and miss now, we thought we’d give it another go, but we won’t be back. I’ve seen the same comments from other guests and friends so we can’t all be wrong. Much better steakhouses around Calgary.

At first, we went to Nick's just because we figured it was close to our hotel. Now, we're wondering when we can get back to Calgary just to eat the meatball pizza again! So yummy and a nice vibe.

As a person who struggles with celiac disease I hate going to restaurants who claim to have gluten free options and those options always being do bad.

This restaurant was honest with my gluten free options. There was not many but they are so delicious! I am so thankful as we have been feeling homesick and missing home cooked food.

I had the steak, baked potatoe with all the toppings and veg. Cooked to perfection 👌🏾

Simply AWESOME

Food was absolutely delicious. Loved the pairing of my steak with the cab sav red wine. My meal included tossed salad and garlic bread but I forgot to take a picture of that. The restaurant was packed and we were a group of 8. I enjoyed my medium rare sirloin steak meal. My steak was well seasoned and just delicious. My husband loved his baby back ribs meal. We all opted to sit outside in the patio since the weather was just great. All in all a great choice of a place.

Great experience! From start to finish everything was excellent. The rib eye was very tasty as was the garlic toast and Caesar salad.

Neat place, friendly staff, tasty steak. I loved the calamari. Warren took wonderful care of us and was attentive and on point when it came to refilling our drinks and removing finished plates. We went there for a late lunch at 2pm on a weekday, and there was plenty of parking and no wait for a table.

Skip this place if you’re staying in one of the nearby hotels.

The food was fine, but they don’t give you anything extra. No napkins, no utensils, no condiments like ketchup…. How are you supposed to eat your meal? Nothing like eating steak and rice with your bare hands.
