First time trying Nilas and it was very satisfying!

Food: tried the beef rendang. The beef was flavourful and tender but a bit dry, could have used more sauce. Coconut rice was plentiful and perfectly cooked. Gado gado salad was fresh and the dressing was tasty. Slightly bigger portion of beef and less dry would have made this 5 star for me.

Service: very friendly and prompt. Meal was ready in minutes.

Atmosphere: stall itself was modest, and the seating area in the food court was eclectic and plentiful. Relatively clean after the prime time lunch rush. People were friendly and open to sharing tables.

Price/Value: overall decent value for quality these days. Slightly more beef by even 1-2 pieces would have made it ideal.

I’ll definitely be coming back to try other dishes, the chicken satay and the noodle soups also caught my eye. Would recommend to others.

We'd highly recommend Nila's especially to fans of Indo food who have been out of Indonesia. We ordered Nasi Rendang and Beef Soup, both of which tasted comfortably familiar. Menu prices were reasonable too. Ibu dan bapak were friendly as we exchanged living experiences in Calgary vs Lisbon, where we live. We'd like to taste more available snacks, such as kripik kentang, lapis legit, risoles, but we were already too full. We wish ibu dan bapak success for many years to come.

Why have I been sitting on this place until now? I always walk by it when I’m at Crossroads, but never really thought to try it until now. I got the Beef Rendang and asked for sambal on the side. It was heaven. I do wish the portion sizes were slightly bigger. It’s not absolutely tiny, but the protein to rice & veggie ratio could use a little work for the price you’re paying. Will definitely be returning to try their other dishes though!

Edit: I can’t stop thinking about it. So much so that I plan on going back tomorrow!

Indonesian here! Had the beef rendang and hands down the best rendang in Calgary, closest to the flavor back home. The sambal (chili sauce) is really good as well. Will for sure come back to try more food on the menu.

First time trying Indonesian Food today. My Mom and I visited Crossroads Market to check out and try new foods. I decided to try Nila's Taste of Indonesia. The owners were nice, very friendly, they described the dish to me and asked about my spice tolerance. I got the beef Rendang, and Indonesian Iced Tea. Overall, it was really good. Beef was flavourful and tender, salad was okay, and the ice tea was refreshing. It was a good experience and will come back again :)

I had the best Indonesian food in Calgary today, thanks to Nila's Taste of Indonesia. It took me back home as I enjoyed their beef rendang with sambel ijo (Nasi Padang). On top of that, I had another sambal (hot sauce) on top of it. It has enough heat that will kick my taste bud in a good way... as that's what Indonesian food is all about. If you are in Calgary... give this restaurant a try.

To Nila's Taste of Indonesia, enak banget! Sukses dan semoga tetap maju!

Second time to try at Taste of Indonesia and always delivers the best quality of Indonesian food! My personal favorite is their Nasi Goreng.Nila gave some suggestions about theirs being savory “Nasi Goreng” and true enough it was really savory. I was a little bit particular with the spice and Paul made sure that it was not to mild and not too spicy “medium spice” that just right with a little kick for my palate! This is a hidden gem for sure! Would recommend this place to anybody craving for authentic Indonesian food ar Crossroads Market! ??? - Ms. M

I had the opportunity to savor the Beef Rendang, a traditional Indonesian dish. I must say the beef curry was absolutely delicious. The meat was incredibly tender, and the flavors were on point. The sambal provided the perfect level of spiciness for my taste.Nila and her husband, who were both incredibly kind and welcoming, further enhancing my overall experience.
