“Chun Jang delivered a solid and enjoyable meal with several standout dishes. The spicy squid noodle soup was the clear highlight. The broth had a robust pepper-forward profile with a clean heat that did not overwhelm the aromatics, and the portion of squid was notably generous and well prepared. This single dish would justify a return visit.
The fried rice carried the characteristic wok-derived fragrance and paired well with the accompanying black bean sauce, offering a balanced savory element. The black bean noodles were less successful. The sauce leaned toward the sweet end of the spectrum, which limited depth and made it the least preferred item among our group.
The sweet and sour pork met expectations. The coating remained crisp, the sauce was well proportioned, and it functioned as a reliable classic that rounded out the meal.
Overall, Chun Jang offers strong execution on its spicy and savory dishes. The spicy squid noodle soup, in particular, deserves attention for its broth and portion quality.“

“Great food! Excellent service. Really nice people. Reasonable prices. The Pho was delicious with a tasty broth, lots of protein and all the right side fixings. The restaurant is clean, nicely decorated and well run by Michael and his siblings. Traditional recipes make all the difference. Pho Han is at the top of my list for Vietnamese cuisine in Calgar“

“A true hidden gem! I discovered Kin Dee while in Calgary for a month-long deployment for the G7, and it quickly became one of my favorite lunch spots. The Lao-Thai dishes are fresh, flavorful, and affordable. As someone with Lao roots, I really appreciated the authentic Lao options on the menu—hard to find and beautifully done. The staff is incredibly warm and welcoming. Sad to leave, but I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town. Highly recommend!“

“One of our few regular go to sushi places. We typically order the agedashi tofu, mixed tempura, salmon sashimi and special rolls. All great. Very efficient service (kudos to the kitchen staff) and servers are excellent, headed by Mina who is both friendly and welcoming. Place is small so make reservations on Fridays and weekends in particular. Try it.“

“The lady and gentleman who work here are very sweet. I was very hungry afterwork today and went there for some pho. They were getting ready to go home but saw me looking at the menu. The very sweet lady asked me if I wanted to order even though they were closing. Both were very sweet and it felt nice knowing they care ablut their customers :))“

“This is an old-school Cantonese Noodle House restaurant. There isn't anything flashy about this restaurant. The wok-hey was awesome, especially for their noodle and fried rice dishes. The staff were very hardworking and courteous. Prices and portions were excellent. The restaurant was drab and could be cleaner.“

“Absolutely love this place. We have been going here for years and have tried pretty much everything on the menu. Love the scotch broth soup, club Sandwich, Reuben, Monte cristo and salmon. Their bakery is amazing as well. We love their challah bread.“

This is the best, OG place to get it in the deeper south. There's a distinct lack of gold Vietnamese food in this area of southland this one beyond all others is the best. It's made how I expect it, like various other restaurants in the NE.
The other dishes also are superb. Portions are more than what you pay for and the quality is top.
The restaurant is as traditionally Vietnamese (see: authentic) as it gets. It's got some storage problems but anyone who's complaining about that hasn't been to a good Vietnamese restaurant. IYKYK.
Friendly folks working a family shop, so eat local and enjoy.

“My boyfriend always raves about this place when he stops into town.
My mom and I just came back from a trip thought we’d stop in and try it out before going back home to the “Hat”.
We sat ourselves, very clean place, easy to order. Just write on the sheet they place for you and you’re done.
We received our food less than 5 minutes and holy we weren’t disappointed.
The food was delicious, flavourful. Left the place nice and stuffed. 10/10 will be back.“

“Wife and I were craving for some dim sum before shopping at CF Chinook. We ordered their preserved egg congee with chili sauce, beef brisket, plain rice roll with side of soy sauce, peanut sauce and hoisin, and the steam pork and with pumpkin. All the food we ate were delicious, and very filling. Cravings satisfied.“

“Their dim sum is quite good. The machang (sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf) is the best I’ve had in Calgary so far. I also really enjoyed their shrimp steamed rice roll. The steamed pork spare ribs have good flavor, though they could be more tender. The chicken feet are flavorful as well, but I personally wish they were spicier—though I understand that might not suit everyone’s taste. The BBQ pork bun is a must-try. The salted egg yolk lava bun isn’t the best I’ve had, but it’s still pretty good.“
