Oolong Tea House is my go-to spot for matcha—nothing else compares. I have a sugar cane allergy, and it’s such a relief knowing I can always count on them for an honest cup of pure - real - matcha, gently sweetened with local honey. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is even better. Warm, welcoming, and full of character. Highly recommend!

I’ve been here several times over the years and thought I had left a review at some point but apparently not so here is one of my most recent experience.
While the ambience, decor, location, art and products in the shop are inviting, the staff and customers themselves really show all the ways they whether consciously or intentionally try and marginalize people of Asian descent.
I was not greeted and served with the same warmth and tone of pleasure and felt very like I had to hold my ground as the barista was more inclined to speak to a Caucasian customer and provide full service - it’s a double standard because as I’m waiting it’s like they take all the time in the world and discussing and offering to the Caucasian customer with no hurry or impatience to get to me next. BUT when it’s my turn I get more of a cold shoulder and terse responses and looking to the customer after me and trying to cut the interaction short so as to get to the next Caucasian customer.
It’s such common behavior to try and marginalize people of my race and it’s clearly practiced at this shop, too, ironically selling product from my people (tea). It shows the depth of ignorance and prejudice still prevalent in mass psyche and shows up in customer service.
Also, while the girl ahead of me was asked “do you work in the area” and given a discount for it, I was not asked the same question which was highly discriminatory and also shows the conditioned and brainwashed mindsets people have. Enjoy the teas you sell here originating from my ancestral lands, while you also ironically provide subpar service to compared to white people 😬 the other customers really were not appreciative of having Asian customers in the store and kind of stupidly did not appreciate the origin of their teas.
The white woman behind me in line lacked grace (as a lot of Canadian racists do) overtly playing into that behavior of trying to cut short my interaction time - I had to ask questions instead of service being offered to me as was done with the Caucasian girl ahead of me while they just stare at me like I’m taking up too much time when in reality they are not providing the same inviting service and pleasantries as they do to others and it is so obvious. It’s low grade bullying and gaslighting if not outright racism.

Visited today for iced tea.there were two staff members both girls for super annoyed and rude .never coming back and tea was not sweet or great .

Great place to buy tea. They sell white, green, black, and herbal teas. You can buy in 30g 70g or 100g packs. Also, they can brew the tea. They also serve other drinks and baked goods. Very quaint place. Staff are always friendly and very helpful. Parking is at the back

A lovely spot with a nice selection of different teas. You can smell different teas and even have them steeped to try before buying them which we found really helpful! Spinach feta snack was very tasty. We liked blueberry black tea and divine temple green tea, they both smell very nice and have a smooth taste. The ambience is also nice and cozy.
