Enjoyed our brunch. Very nice small restaurant with great service. Enjoyed my seafood omelet! Thank you.
My friend and I were very disappointed with this restaurant and added it to our “do not return to this place” list. My friend ordered the steak and lobster, steak to be medium rare. We saw her plate sitting and waiting to be served for several minutes before it was finally brought to our table by which point the steak was over-cooked and the lobster was chewy. I had the cod - the fish itself was excellent but the rice that accompanied it was mushy and the asparagus was a disgrace: the sort of old, tired asparagus you would never buy in a grocery store and which should never have been served by any restaurant. The waiter was very friendly but service was slow - as noted my friend's plate sat out for quite a while. All in all, very disappointing and way over-priced for what we were served.
Service was above and beyond. Food was really good and no problem having them re make an item.
Three seniors dined here for the first time. We ordered 2 glasses of wine & 3 mains. Selected our dishes from the Big Fish menu. My Manitoba Walleye was a mild whitefish, but flavour was overpowered by the black pepper sprinkled on top. The 2 menus are in heavy cases, which are difficult to manage at a small table and are overwhelming with info. Suggest combining them to a lightweight single menu which would be easier to navigate. Parking was challenging - small rear lot was full when we arrived @ 5:40. Had to park 2 blocks away, due to permit parking rules on the nearby street. Uncertain if we will return.
Great! We loved the pear and beat salad! The fish and chips and the tacos were delicious! Great service! Will be back!
Came for the first time, the server called me by name when I walked in because of my reservation without introducing myself, she's very good. Knowledgeable about the menu, very prompt and attentive.
We had the wild game platter, boar chop, and walleye. Everything was quick, presented beautifully, and tasted unbelievably good. My brother took his first bite of the boar and his face totally changed, eyebrows went up, and there was very little talking after good arrived because we were busy enjoying it.
For the portion size and quality of the food, I'm stunned by how reasonable the prices are.
Only one thing I would change, different mints with the bill.

Being a seafood restaurant with such good reviews and amazing photos and menu description from their website, I expected much better when my husband reserved us a table there for my birthday. However, I was thoroughly disappointed that I was served a bad oyster. The smell was awful and being oyster connaisseurs, we couldn't believe they served it because it was obviously different from the others. The rest of the food was also meh. This happened a few years ago, but I felt compelled to write about this experience because I hadn't explained why my previous review read "at best mediocre" before.

Nice classy dinner place, liked the patio. Awesome for a late evening dinner date. Enjoy the people watching and just be in the middle of midtown bustle on Edmonton Trail. Had a blast and the meal was reasonable on the price and they allow you to take a doggy bag for any leftovers-late night snack and for the shy gal/guy on the first date ? ??
Dietary restrictions: Menu had many options, should accompany all diets.
Parking: Back of the building and some street parking.

Living in Alberta, I don't normally eat a lot of seafood. However, when Big Fish first opened, I enjoyed the food here so much that I came back 5 days in the first week! Open Range was originally located next door, but they have combined into one restaurant.
I used to order the main dishes from Big Fish and the desserts from Open Range, so I'm happy that Andy doesn't have to sneak next door to get our desserts now. The food, service, and atmosphere are still top-notch, but I miss the sour cream and raisin pie, which was unique to Big Fish.

First time here today and the food was absolutely amazing. My aunt had the fish and chips and I had the salmon hash with poached eggs.
Service was not the best but waitress was having a very off day and honestly should have been sent home. She wasn’t fit for work
We had an apology and there was no charge for the coffee (or waitress forgot)
I will definitely be back. Things happen.
