As a frequent patron of this type of food, I have visited many Vietnamese restaurants in Calgary. There is no question, Oriental Phoenix is head and shoulders above any of the other restaurants in town. This restaurant was our favourite place for years and then we kind of forgot about it. Went there for dinner tonight and had an amazing meal. Dishes were fresh and so incredibly tasty. Garlic beef with onions, curry coconut chicken, and seafood over crunchy noodles and rice. The food was absolutely impeccably good. We marveled at how tasty it was.
My only complaint would be that there shrimp rice rolls were rather small, About half the size of ones I normally find. I highly recommend this place

I ordered and asked for extra sauce which I didn't get, and more importantly no peanuts because of allergies and it was covered in peanuts. Couldn't eat it because of this and looking at it not many veggies in it and no lettuce. Not very happy w this experience.

Beat Vietnamese restaurant in calgary by far. Been coming here for 25 years. Amazing staff and delicious food. Quick service as well.

Really yummy Vietnamese food here. I had the HỦ TIẾU PHƯỢNG HOÀNG (KHÔ), and it was unlike any other thing I've had. Super delicious and authentic! The spring rolls were really tasty too, as was the soup, and ice cream to finish it off. Great spot for a meal.

We’ve been loyal fans of Oriental Phoenix since way back in 2004—that was actually the first time my wife and I ever tried Vietnamese food. They were still at their original downtown spot on 9th Ave, and let me tell you, it was love at first bite… and sip. Their jasmine tea was unforgettable, and the food instantly became one of our go-tos.

Since then, this place has been part of so many great memories—birthdays, anniversaries, even hosting out-of-town guests. It’s just that kind of spot. I’m hooked on the Stir-Fried Lemongrass Chicken with rice (I’ve probably ordered it a hundred times), and my wife swears by the Pork with Spring Rolls on Vermicelli. We still visit their Chinook location, and all these years later, they still haven’t missed a beat. Every meal is top-notch.

If you’re looking for a consistently awesome Vietnamese restaurant with warm staff and seriously tasty food, this is it. Highly recommend.

The beef skewer appetizer was very questionable at best. The portion size for the price of the main was crazy small. Service was great but probably won't return.

Visited on my birthday with my friends. It was a lovely way to spend the day! The food is nice and the atmosphere is nice. The service is especially great. ☺️❤️ I can't wait to come back and dine here.

My friend and I had an amazing meal there tonight after a long day of shopping , the service was very polite and fast . The food was generous and fresh and tasty . The atmosphere made us feel comfortable and relaxed , that says a lot considering the location , you can tell there are a lot of return customers leaving with smiles on their faces . Thank you !

Vegetarian options: My friend loved the pork . Really we both enjoyed the veggies and freshness of them and the fact they don’t cook them so much they turn mushy - they are perfectly done . The sauce flavours are lovely . Spring rolls great ! They filled up our water fast with refreshing lemon water :)
