Food: Fantastic, novel dishes which are a refreshing departure from overplayed staples that seem to be on a lot of menus these days, along with some delicious takes on fitting classics. Service: I had booked a reservation for my mom's birthday, and the staff really went the extra mile to make her feel special - they even hand wrote a birthday card, which it looked like all the staff signed! From entering the staff all made us feel very welcome, and we left feeling spoiled. Thank you Oxbow!

Our party of 6 was placed in the bar area since a private event was booked in the dining room. We were only informed of this change one hour prior to our reservation, which was too late to change since some of our party were coming in from out of town. The lack of parking in the area added time to arrive to the restaurant on time. Fitting 6 around a smaller table made things squishy where we were moving the display specials and lighting around to fit all the plates. When going out to a nicer restaurant costs more nowadays and with so many options in Calgary, we will choose elsewhere.

I’m not usually one for super fancy restaurants but Oxbow was soooo good. I went with some friends and the whole staff was so lovely and attentive. They catered to our every need; I never had dirty cutlery or an empty glass in front of me. The food was also just so incredibly good. Highly recommend to anyone looking to try something eclectic, flavorful, and comforting!

The Happy Hour at Oxbow is one of the best in the Kensington area. We especially loved the brie and brioche, the duck wings, Brussels ceasar salad and the beef tartare. Everything we tried was absolutely amazing.

First time to Oxbow but won't be the last. Spontaneous Anniversary drinks and staff were wonderful and made it even more special. The food was decent but definitely the drinks and desserts were worth the trip to Kensington <3

We had the Chef's tasting menu for New Year's dinner. All five courses were very well presented and very tasty. A big improvement over recent experiences. Will put Oxbow back on our list of restaurants to revisit.
The service was impeccable, with staff patiently explaining the menu and attentively listening to customer preferences. The Oxbow oysters were absolutely stunning as soon as they arrived—perfectly chilled, plump, and tender with a springy texture. One bite and their fresh sweetness rushed straight to the senses! Paired with the house-made dipping sauce, tangy and spicy, it awakened the appetite and exploded with layers of flavor. The duck breast was cooked just right—tender and free of any gaminess. The hen was also perfectly prepared, juicy and not the least bit dry. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.
