We were happy we chose Oxbow for a small gathering during their 3-6pm happy hour. Corey, Restaurant Manager and Server, Jonathon, were exceptional to work with, our guests were pleased and the food delicious.
Phenomenal magical experience for dinner. Brussels sprouts and cauliflower dish was out of this world (the onions REALLY make it). Patrick was sublime, ripe with recommendations and cheeriness!!! Crème brûlée and key lime pie were life changing. Don’t sleep on this place!
We recently dined at Oxbow for our family’s Mother’s Day dinner. I was there with my husband and my son, and each of us ordered our dinner off the “large plates“ menu, and we also each had a dessert. While I know that it is a popular theme for upscale restaurants to serve their food in small quantities, I felt that this was taken to an extreme. It is disappointing to drop hundreds of dollars on a meal, only to walk away hungry. It was a huge disappointment.
This was not my first time at Oxbow, but it was the first time that I had experienced this problem.
Unfortunately, it has definitely coloured my opinion of the restaurant, and I likely won’t return.
Thank you to all the staff at Oxbow for an amazing evening!! 👏🏻 We went for the YYC Food and Drink Expo and what a treat it was!!!
Jonathon took excellent care of us from start to finish, including my many quesions regarding my egg allergy - Thank you!!
The kitchen staff prepared the most amazing dinner, our favorite of the placea we tried!! The modifications Chef Junell and team made so I could still enjoy a full menu were top notch and incredibly delicious! Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of us, we will be back!
For our first time at Oxbow we tried the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. The food throughout the courses was quite good, and the hamachi stood out for us. I thought the wine pairings were also well thought out, but I was disappointed that we weren't told much about the food or anything about the pairings. For example, the first pairing came with a cider, which despite being a good fit with the dish wasn't what I was expecting to see with wine pairings. I'm sure the kitchen had a reason for this pairing instead of a wine, but it wasn't discussed with us beyond it being announced as cider. This felt like a bit of a miss for me compared to a more typical tasting style menu where each element of the dish or pairing is described.
As the night went on the wait time between courses increased a bit too much, which was a bit of a shame as we were stuck with wine pairings we didn't want to touch so that we could enjoy them with the food. It seemed like a difficult night for service, so perhaps our experience is not typical.
Overall, we largely enjoyed our first experience at Oxbow, but I'm not sure that we would be inclined to take a tasting menu again. Despite this, the food was good and the wine pairings felt appropriate. I wrestled a bit with the star rating here, but in consideration of the quality of the meal I settled on four stars.
We had a reservation for 7:30 PM tonight but waited until 8:15 PM without anyone acknowledging us. A blonde staff member briefly told us to wait since they were behind schedule but didn’t even ask for our reservation name before walking away. With the restaurant closing at 9 PM, this kind of service was unacceptable. This was supposed to be a special night for my husband's birthday, but it was completely ruined. I will never return and definitely won’t recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely disappointing! I wish I could give zero star.
Ox bow’s 5 course was fantastic and delicious 🤤 worth the gout
Did the 5 course tasting menu.
Service was kind but slow and simple faults like touching every single glass in the lounge with the spout of the water carafe.
Took just shy of 3 hours to do the courses with a half full restaurant.
It was clear that some food hat sat for some time.
Killer happy hour, great service.
Good place for a date or for a group. The food was excellent and I would recommend this place. Try it out

We went there for YYC hot chocolate festival, and found the staff very friendly. Hot chocolate with a nutella and hazelnut rim was good, specially the glazed marshmallow tasted very interesting!
We’ve enjoyed afternoon tea and dinner here. Fantastic food, beautiful restaurant and great service - highly recommend!!!
We had a wonderful time for our office Christmas party at Oxbow. The staff were all friendly and helpful with every little thing that popped up during the event. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was comfortable and lovely.
I’ve never seen an open fireplace in a restaurant this new, we came in the winter so it was perfect. Happy hour drinks and snacks were great! The glaze on the duck wings was unmatched. There were a couple of nice vegetarian happy hour options as well. Our server, Johnathan had perfect timing and our bartender, Gerwin was very knowledgeable and great at accommodations with drinks. Thanks again!
I recently visited Oxbow for a celebratory dinner, and it exceeded all expectations! The food was impeccably prepared, with every dish showcasing both creativity and exceptional flavor. The service was just as impressive—attentive without being intrusive, making us feel truly cared for throughout the evening.
What stood out the most was the thoughtful gesture from the staff. Knowing it was my friend’s birthday, they went above and beyond by creating a personalized birthday card, adding a heartfelt touch to an already wonderful evening.
The combination of exquisite cuisine, top-notch service, and the warm hospitality made this a dining experience to remember. I highly recommend Oxbow for any special occasion or a refined night out.
