Came here for dinner on a busy time. Atmosphere is quite loud, lobby is almost perfectly clean and Food has no problem at all.

Looking for one of the best authentic Chinese places to eat in Calgary?
I highly recommend this place.
Always loved Chinese food
A friend of mine introduced me and my family to this place and never looked back!
My kids loves the chefs special fried rice.
Basically everything thing on their menu is amazing.
Here is what gets us to come back it tastes amazing and the portions you pay for is definitely more than what you get at other restaurants we have been too.
Ive taken family from out of provinces that love thier Chinese food and they say the same thing, its alot of portions and its amazingly good.
Go there and try a couple of your favorite dishes and see for yourself you wont be disappointed.
Also their Cantonese chow mien is amazing.
Thank you to the cooks and servers there!

The best dim sum I’ve found in Calgary! Phoenix Gate has great food and service, and we were happy to see others waiting at 10am for the restaurant to open. We enjoyed the steamed BBQ pork buns, siu mai and the green onion cakes, along with a few other dishes! The portion sizes are huge and very reasonably priced! Would highly recommend!

Perfect authentic dim sum. There was a line up to get in at 10am. Siu mai are huge! Prices were very reasonable.

We came here on two occasions and found our experience differed quite a bit, so our overall rating would be between 2.5-3 stars.

Our first visit was not too bad, other than a number of items being unavailable. I especially enjoyed the rice crepes, which were soft and portion sizes are very decent. The pan fried chicken buns were also a good size. They give you prawns, not shrimps, in the snow pea leaf and shrimp dumplings which had a soft skin.

On our last visit, the staff was very rude and the food was not good. We were told to sit at a tiny table behid a pillar that wasn't even clean despite there being many other tables available. The siu mai tasted off and gave him some issues after. Again, there were a number of items that were unavailable.

A great place to eat and meet friends. A bit noise but very familiar environment. Tables are with 10 people. Does not have a option for less. Cost is about $30 per person. Great place for a big family. I will recommend and hopefully visit again soon.

Dimsum here is very good. On the pricier side but they serve big portions. Recommend.

A no-fuss Chinese restaurant where dishes arrive quickly and portions are generous. It can get quite loud inside, but if you're looking for a hearty meal, this place delivers.
