Came here for dinner on a busy time. Atmosphere is quite loud, lobby is almost perfectly clean and Food has no problem at all.

Looking for one of the best authentic Chinese places to eat in Calgary?
I highly recommend this place.
Always loved Chinese food
A friend of mine introduced me and my family to this place and never looked back!
My kids loves the chefs special fried rice.
Basically everything thing on their menu is amazing.
Here is what gets us to come back it tastes amazing and the portions you pay for is definitely more than what you get at other restaurants we have been too.
Ive taken family from out of provinces that love thier Chinese food and they say the same thing, its alot of portions and its amazingly good.
Go there and try a couple of your favorite dishes and see for yourself you wont be disappointed.
Also their Cantonese chow mien is amazing.
Thank you to the cooks and servers there!

Delicious and authentic Cantonese cuisine. The peeking duck is especially good!

The best dim sum I’ve found in Calgary! Phoenix Gate has great food and service, and we were happy to see others waiting at 10am for the restaurant to open. We enjoyed the steamed BBQ pork buns, siu mai and the green onion cakes, along with a few other dishes! The portion sizes are huge and very reasonably priced! Would highly recommend!

Perfect authentic dim sum. There was a line up to get in at 10am. Siu mai are huge! Prices were very reasonable.

We came here on two occasions and found our experience differed quite a bit, so our overall rating would be between 2.5-3 stars.

Our first visit was not too bad, other than a number of items being unavailable. I especially enjoyed the rice crepes, which were soft and portion sizes are very decent. The pan fried chicken buns were also a good size. They give you prawns, not shrimps, in the snow pea leaf and shrimp dumplings which had a soft skin.

On our last visit, the staff was very rude and the food was not good. We were told to sit at a tiny table behid a pillar that wasn't even clean despite there being many other tables available. The siu mai tasted off and gave him some issues after. Again, there were a number of items that were unavailable.

A great place to eat and meet friends. A bit noise but very familiar environment. Tables are with 10 people. Does not have a option for less. Cost is about $30 per person. Great place for a big family. I will recommend and hopefully visit again soon.

Dimsum here is very good. On the pricier side but they serve big portions. Recommend.

A no-fuss Chinese restaurant where dishes arrive quickly and portions are generous. It can get quite loud inside, but if you're looking for a hearty meal, this place delivers.

The Pros= I Really enjoyed how the place was Brightly Lit which was kind of a Big Plus for me. Then there’s the Excellent Taste of every dish and Top of that but I found that all of the Dishes Where Really Sizeable Too. Then next is how I also Loved how Every Waitresses and Waiter where So Friendly. And the Fact that I’ve noticed that at least one was still Wearing Face Mask, but regardless everyone seemed to be Wearing Gloves. Even 4 or 5 years after the start of COVID. Where it seems that not many was Masking Up nor Wearing Gloves anymore not even when they are going Grocery Shopping. Moving on I also liked how the Floor looked really clean even on a Busy Boxing Day Night.

The Cons= The first down side that I have is that the Chair that I sat on was so Uncomfortable especially for someone with a Medical Condition such as the one that I have. As it was one of those Bare Hard Wooden Ones, in fact by the end I was constantly Shifting Positions just to get Comfortable or at least Attempt to with out very much success. All the while when I looked around all of the other chairs at all of the tables seemed to be Padded. At least in the Bottom Area. And since we had 2 tables it seemed that the other table got there food before our table did. For example they were on their Fifth Dish while we only just gotten our Second Dish. And I also Feel that the Place was a Little Cramped when Filled with Patrons like when we first entered. But once when the other Patrons stared Leaving the Place Started Looking Wider and Spacious. And as for Parking Sadly there doesn’t seemed to be enough even after closing time for the rest of the mall.

Final Thoughts= Still Highly Recommend.
