2025.- Still the best in Calgary.
Went to shawarma Palace and Jerusalem andthe meat starts off good when you look at it spinning on the spit, then they butcher the crap out of it. They even steam it you see people put water on the grill and just steaming the meat.

But not these guys they cook it with a little bit of oil on the grill the way it should be and it just tastes succulent and juicy and it just it's just so good.

I like this place. They make a fresh Shawarama, the chicken is consistently good, the beef is marinated so it has flavour. The staff could smile more when preparing the food. I understand they must be hot and tired as this place gets busy. Pay a bit more but the quality is excellent. The bread is so fresh. One of my favourites.

On June 3rd at around 6 PM, I visited this store to get some Eid desserts. When I arrived, a family was having supper inside, and no one was at the cashier or available to assist customers. My husband and I waited and had to call out to ask if anyone was there to help. About five minutes later, a lady came out.

We asked her about the dessert bags, which were not opening properly. She didn’t offer much help, but I eventually found better ones on another table and started filling them myself. I also asked if I could mix and match items, and while I was doing that, I asked about the Kunafeh. Every time I asked her a question, she seemed annoyed and complained.

After I placed the Kunafeh in a bag, I requested syrup to go with it, but when I looked in the bag, there was no syrup. When I politely asked for it again, she responded in a rude tone, telling me I had to wait—even though there were no other customers needing help at the time.

My husband tried to be understanding and asked if she might be new, and she snapped back, “No, I’m not new,” in a very unprofessional and disrespectful manner. We were both shocked by how rude and unfriendly she was.

We had planned to purchase more for our celebration, but I told my husband to forget it—I didn’t want to buy anything else. I left very disappointed and went to another place to finish buying desserts.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this store based on this experience. The customer service was shockingly poor and unprofessional, especially during such an important and festive time.

I love pita basket it is my go to lunch spot in Calgary. my father has been going here for 16 years and I have for 3 years. the most inviting place I have ever been to. service is quick, delicious, fresh and addictively delicious. there breakfast is just as goos with the pies and the egg pizza. I recommend the fries with hummus and the donair. trust me you will never think you wasted your money at this place.

This place is an absolute gem for shawarma lovers, I love the mixed wraps. I’m completely addicted to Pita Basket! The flavors are authentic, the portions are huge, and everything is always fresh. The meat is perfectly seasoned and juicy, and the toppings are crisp and flavorful. Whether you’re getting a wrap or a platter, you seriously can’t go wrong.

I had a wonderful experience at Pita Basket, thanks to Samar’s exceptional service. From the moment we arrived, Samar was warm, welcoming, and attentive. They went out of their way to recommend dishes and ensure we were happy with everything. What truly stood out, though, was how kind and patient Samar was with my children—making them feel special and engaged. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. I’ll definitely be back, thanks to the amazing experience Samar provided!
