Rasoi East Indian and Hakka Chinese Cuisine

I visited Rasoi East Indian and Hakka Chinese Cuisine in Calgary for the first time while traveling from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I was craving something special, and I wasn’t disappointed.

I tried their chicken chilly and Hakka noodles, and the flavors instantly reminded me of authentic food I’ve had before. The chicken was tender, the spices balanced perfectly, and the noodles had that comforting, homemade taste that’s hard to find.

The portions were generous, and every bite was delicious. The service was warm and attentive, which made the whole experience even better.

What makes Rasoi stand out even more is the personal touch from the owner, Gurwinder. He goes out of his way to welcome every customer, making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality are rare to see these days.

If you get a chance, talk to Gurwinder. He has an inspiring story of hard work and dedication behind building this restaurant. It’s not just about food here—it’s about passion, pride, and creating a place where people feel at home.

For me, it felt like discovering a hidden gem in the city. I walked in curious and walked out full, happy, and already thinking of coming back.

Overall, the food here was enjoyable. The butter chicken was flavourful, garlic naan was delicious, and so was the rice. Portions were fairly standard. A solid spot if you’re looking for Indian food in the area.

In today’s world, where genuine customer service is sometimes hard to find, it was refreshing to meet someone who truly takes pride in treating people so well. I can honestly say this was one of the best services I’ve received in a long time. If you’re looking for someone who is professional, attentive, respectful, and genuinely kind, I would highly recommend them without hesitation. I’m grateful for the way I was treated and will definitely be coming back again.

Everything was perfect—the food, the service, and the atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The Manchurian was a surprise hit—so tasty and one of the best we’ve ever had! Highly recommended!

This is third time i ordered food from here … they made same mistake everytime .. i ordered two plates of chole bhature and 2 extra bhaturee , i came here to pick up they gave me only 1 plate of it with extras .. i asked to refund coz already waiting there then they ask name who picked my call .. i mean seriously.. you guys should be active listener while taking order amd i repeated my order 3 times on phone and again repeated order before payment …. Even they don’t apologise to customer… really bad service it was third time …..

I live out of Calgary about 60 km today. My family went and they brought me leftover as I already had a dinner. I told them I don’t need nothing, but they still brought some from this restaurant. I tell you guys perfect spice not too much not hart burning this is awesome. I am. I haven’t been to this place about two years. I’m so busy but today they told me they went there and they brought some leftovers you know what is awesome thank you Restaurant and the chef good job.

The restaurant itself was fine , food was good. The ambience didn’t match due to other guests creating chaos. Felt a bit alarmed on behaviour of other guest with the cashier. But seemed like the staff was use to this customer so I assuming its normal for them.

I had ordered soya chaap, the food is very tasty but the service isn’t really good because usually they always give sauces along but this time I didn’t get any sauces. The worker I had gotten my food from name is Sirman kaur and she handed over the food without any sauces and we got home and noticed, we callled and it wasn’t very a very nice time.

I called them 30 minutes ago for lunch and then when I went there they said your food will take 5 minutes I have been standing there for 40 minutes staff were not helping and the food coming right now
