RAW - Japanese Hand Roll Bar

Tried Raw Bar for my birthday and it was nothing but amazing! Staff is friendly, food tastes good & fresh. The fish to rice ratio of the hand rolls are perfect here.

We went in because of other reviews, and we were not disappointed. Driving downtown was worth it. Genuine service. The bar seating was perfect for our date, just 2. We tried many of the items and the top 3 are: seared salmon belly, truffle lobster, and the seasonal miso cod.
Everything was so fresh and soft. You can tell that they take care with choosing ingredients. Edmontons' sushi scene could take some notes.

Vegetarian options: We did notice the mushroom kimchi item, but maybe call ahead. It would be best if you can eat fish.

Great place for hand rolls! Sampled a large variety of their offering and even their fall special. We got our food quickly. Thoroughly enjoyed everything. We came on a night when it wasn’t too busy so rolls were made fresh at a good pace.

It was really relaxing here, the servers were really nice and the food tasted AMAZING. I loved the negi tuna rolls, 10/10 recommend :)))

Modern young adult vibe Japanese hand roll restaurant. Sushi was prepared in front of you. Ingredients were fresh and delicious! Space is
limited, I would feel more comfortable if you are in a group of 3-4 max sitting together. The setting is not meant for a group of more than 6 people because interactions are limited.

Cozy little place with a young-adult vibe. Sitting at the bar, listening to some hip-hop in the background, while sushi is made in front of you. Sushi is buttery-soft, just melts in your mouth. When it is available, I recommend the seared salmon belly, so tastey I went in for seconds.

Grabbed some take out recently!

I tried the spicy prawn onigirazu with a miso soup. The onigirazu was great, I paired it with a little bit of soy sauce and pickled ginger because I felt it needed a pickled element and it definitely elevated the bites. I really couldn't taste the cilantro but I don't think it affected my experience.

The miso soup had a lot of seaweed which I liked but the miso taste was very subtle and I think their soup could benefit from some more miso paste.

That being said I enjoyed my lunch and I was very full! Definitely going to try the other options soon.

Has a cool vibe, with very fresh tasting hand rolls. The chicken karaage was superb, so crispy and juicy at the same time. Will definitely be back for more!

The hand roll combos were all great and very affordable. Each roll was delicious and made it hard to choose a favorite. Happened to come on Wednesday when sake caribes were half off so lucked out on bogo! Had great service and hand rolls delivered personally. The server stocked me on ginger three times, plus i was fortunate enough to have good company with the sushi chef and one of the wonderful owners.

Will be back again when in Calgary!

Amazing quality of food. But has to wait 15+ min for the rainbow roll. Granted there were a lot of people.

Staff was AMAZING. Food was AMAZING. This has to be my top 2 favorite sushi places in terms of affordability and quality. This means a lot coming from someone who is extremely picky with their sushi. 10/10 recommend!

honestly they went above and beyond, i absolutely loved this place. i’m vegan, they had some really great vegan options and were knowledgeable of their menu and helped guide me. they even made a new veganized broth for the agadashi tofu and it was super delish. highly recommend this place and will def be coming back
