This place is a hidden summer gem! Marvellous place for breakfast / brunch. Gardens are spectacular to walk around afterwards. Inner city location with a country cottage feel.
Hannah the wonderful server makes this place just perfect with her beautiful and cosy demeanour.
Food is soo good! Love the Eggs Benedict made with a biscuit/scone base ?
I’ve come here with kids (including a newborn), with other couples, and for a girlfriend’s brunch. Suits all occasions.

Excellent service! The staff were all very kind and helpful. The garden is beautiful, it is a great place to explore and it’s such a cute spot for pictures. The food is average. Definitely worth a visit though!

The food and service in the cafe are inoffensively average. I’ve been there for breakfast and brunch. Its allure is clearly the historic building that is home to the cafe and the surrounding garden. This combination creates a quiet respite in the heart of the city. You must walk up through the garden to get to the cafe so wear sensible shoes for the three-minute walk. After your meal remember to explore all the garden’s winding pathways and take in the beauty of the trees and plant life.

What is special about this cafe is the semi hidden gem of a garden around it. The cafe is ok, but the garden is definitely worth a visit and a way to find a slice of quiet and greenery in the middle of the city.

Such a beautiful location! Rustic and quaint! A great ambiance for intimate gatherings!
Parking: Make sure you park at the base of the hill, there is no parking at the top by the Cafe. There is a bit of a walk up the hill to get to the Cafe.

My burger was YUMMY but my friend's pork sandwich was very thin, terribly overcooked and, therefore, very tough!!
Chairs out on the deck had little seat cushions but there really was no cushioning!!

What a beautiful cafe and garden!! Recently attended a wedding here and worked with the staff to ensure everything went off without a hitch. The staff were awesome and always making sure we were all taken care of. I did not get all of their names but Hannah and the team went over and above. Will definitely come back next time we are in Calgary just to check out the cafe. Thank you for the great experience!

The food was quite bad today. We expected better since it was so good a year ago. There was a creamy carrot soup special made with coconut milk. If there was coconut milk soup in it I couldn’t find it. And it was far from creamy as you could see the small bits of carrot distributed throughout. Tasteless as well. We ordered the white chocolate panna cotta with strawberry sauce for dessert. There wasn’t any strawberry sauce; just a single strawberry garnish in a swirl of whipped cream. The panna cotta was powdery and in a little glass jar by itself. What a disappointing birthday lunch. It’s a shame since the garden, house, and service are so good.

They get away with alright food because the location and building are so unique for the city, would still recommend

The most difficult part of the visit was getting to the cafe from the parking lot. There was no signage that we saw that suggested the easiest way to get to the cafe was to walk up a driveway. Unfortunately we walked up through the trees where there was rock steps. Very dangerous for elderly people. There are only two parking spots at the top near the cafe and they are for handicap parking only. Proper signage is key for everything. I cannot recommend this cafe to any of my friends as we are in our mid 70s and although most of us do not have handicap stickers, it is most difficult to reach the cafe. Food was okay and our service was great. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

It was our second time in this cafe and I think we won’t be going back anymore.
About the upsides first - very nice location, historical building and very beautiful garden. Very nice atmosphere.
But the food is mediocre and the service is not very good.
Today at around 11 am we went there with my wife to get some coffee and desert. I was working on my laptop and my wife was reading a book.
Coffee was and food was just ok, not bad, 3/5.
But we did not feel welcome there because of the older guy’s service(is he the owner? I’m not sure). Somewhere around 30 minutes in we were brought a receipt without asking for one which seemed a little hostile. We decided not to worry, pay and just stay a little more. But then in around 10 minutes the guy came over and asked us to leave because the table we were occupying was supposedly needed for a reservation.
It seems to be nonsensical. Because
1) no one told us the table was reserved
2) there were other free tables and no one offered us to go to another table.
3) there were older ladies sitting beside us, they were sitting with empty coffee mugs and just chatting. They were there before we came and stayed after we left, so it’s not like the place was busy.
In the end it seems the issue was my laptop and my wife’s book(?) I don’t see any other reasons
The bottom line is, I got a feeling that if you are not a boomer then you are not welcome. Do not recommend.
Ps. The other waiter who helped us, Sabrina, was very nice.
Accessibility was a requirement for us. Our email request for details was responded to promptly, thoroughly, and courteously. We had an absolutely lovely lunch - delicious food, excellent service, and a wonderful setting. We will definitely be back!
