When in Calgary I must always enjoy a lunch at River Cafe which is always delicious and delightful. Haida Gwaii halibut fish cakes and poached eggs were brilliant as was the rose bubbly. Also delicious was the strawberry rhubarb simple syrup with bubbly water. See you July 2026 during stampede season:)
We had a phenomenal very first experience here, truly 10/10, which is rare these days! Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed this meal after our flight into Calgary. We did arrive pretty early to our reservation, but the restaurant was quite empty upon arrival, so we figured it would be okay. The host seemed a bit annoyed that we arrived early. He did not welcome us warmly, and said we could not be accomodated outside due to them not having a table large enough (however, two tables could have been easily pushed together and that is exactly what they did for us inside...)....
