Riverbend Peking House aka Peking Peking

Edit* We have been coming to Peking Peking for so many years I can't remember, even when I moved out from riverbend to Douglasdale we continued going here.
Last night we ordered and most of the dishes were excellent (spicy shanghai noodles are the best!) but the 2 dishes that are battered - lemon chicken and salt and pepper shrimp were so thickly coated that the inside dough hadn't been cooked through. The batter needs be be waaaaay thinner to cook properly and be enjoyable. I even asked when I ordered to have light batter and they came like this.... See photo!

We might have to rethink our go to Chinese food place after 15-20 years of loyalty....

This restaurant is a neighborhood staple that (before moving back to Riverbend), I would consistently go out of my way to pickup food from. Not only is everything absolutely delicious, but very reasonable priced. The owner, Sam, is incredibly friendly and always greets you by name. Would highly recommend eating here if you get a chance.

Wonderful little hidden gem!! The buffet is small but perfect! The food was hot, fresh and delicious! They had all the favourites from ginger beef and sweet and sour pork to tasty stir fries and deep fried shrimp. The dinner buffet price was only $21.95. It was worth the drive! We’ll definitely be back!!

It opened at 4pm , I got here at 4:15 , everything was kinda warm but I could tell it was all left over from lunch so it wasn't as good as fresh ,, ok tasting but I'm not sure I would come back unless I was in the neighborhood and really hungry !

This place has a buffet that is always filled with hot food...no waiting for any items! Food is consistently good and the staff is very friendly! There is also a menu but the buffet has lots of choices including ginger beef, rice, noodles, dumplings, deep fried shrimp and squid, won ton soup, fried chicken and spring rolls!

The food was mushy. Even our 2 year old who eats everything had a hard time with the food. Wontons were the nastiest I've ever tasted. Chicken balls were all balls no chicken. Only yummy thing on there 7 items to choose from was the stir fry. It's called the pekking house because it's ment for chicken live stock. Not people. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This place is amazing for the price and what they offer. The staff are super friendly and always make you feel welcome. The restaurant is clean and the quality of the food is really good. You would never guess it is from a buffet.

I have probably tried at least five different dishes here and I have never gotten sick. That means a lot because I have a very sensitive stomach and cannot handle McDonald’s or A&W.

I have eaten at some of the best Chinese restaurants in Richmond and Vancouver over the past five years, and some of them actually made me really sick. Riverbend Peking House is different. It is clean, the food is always fresh, and I never have to worry when I eat here. Definitely a solid 5 stars.

The food here is absolutely incredible!
It’s not a huge buffet, but every single dish is pure perfection — especially the ginger beef.

On top of that, the service is outstanding. My water is always refilled promptly, and the owners are so friendly and welcoming.

I’ve brought many people here, and every single one of them has loved it.

Not the worst Chinese food but definitely not the best. Limited selection, wonton soup was advertised as pork wontons but did not taste nor did it look like pork, same with the dumplings. Honestly the only good items tonight was the fried rice and fried shrimp. Not bad for value but food was lack lustre and service was almost non existent. Won't be returning.

Best Chinese Peking house in Calgary can’t beat the food or the service, somehow they do with an incredible price 50$ for two and drinks is insane for buffet!!!
