This place is a class act! Such high quality ingredients, many grown in the lovely garden outside the restaurant. The restaurant is a stunning Arts & Crafts home, with a fascinating back story. The staff were lovely, and so accommodating. They even devised a special meal for my picky 9 year old, which was very much enjoyed! We ate in the garden patio as the sun set, and it was pure magic! This is hands-down the BEST restaurant I have visited in Calgary, and I say that as a foodie!

Wowwwww this was such an amazing meal! Went for the chefs menu for a special night out and it was awesome. My bf isn't big on the foodie stuff so he wasn't into the uniqueness quite as much as I was but one dish he just didn't want to eat - I told them he wasn't fond of smoked salmon, and he was so embarrassed - i tried to ensure him that it's ok to say you don't like something (nobody likes to complain, but when you're paying this much you want to enjoy it!), and so they whipped up something else within 10 minutes and after that he perked up completely for the rest of the meal. They had such great attitudes and didn't make us feel awkward for turning away a dish, I even requested 2 different desserts and they made it happen. I was thrilled! I have to say - 6 courses doesn't include the palette cleansers. I was absolutely stuffed and I regret not wearing stretchy pants or loose fitting dress. My waistline changed from my rib cage to my hips.
The server was so awesome all the servers and hostess were friendly and helpful, my server even took care of a spider that found its way onto the table without even flinching. I guess black widows haven't had fatal bites on record since the 80's, what do ya know.
The place is stunning the food is divine. I will definitely return. They also allow single diners to order the chef menu which isn't always the case.
Totally recommend it if you love fine dining!

From start to finish, our experience was outstanding. The service was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. We were surprised with a complimentary little appetizer and dessert, both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The food itself was top-notch in both flavour and presentation, with every element on the plate being thoughtfully prepared and edible. Timing was perfect; we never felt rushed, and the whole evening had a relaxed, inviting pace. A truly memorable dining experience.

After years of intending to come to Rouge, we finally decided to act for a special event. We both chose to order the tasting menu ($120 each) but did not add on the $75 wine pairing (each). Apparently the wine pairing is about 3/4 of a bottle so we passed since I had driven.
This is a satisfying 6 course meal. We had expected tiny decorative serving and I had joked we could stop at Macdonalds on the way home, but we were both full at the end of the night. Each course comes out with enough time to fully enjoy the flavors, which led to a very enjoyable and relaxed dinner.
I had fully intended to review the dinner, but so enjoyed the experience I totally forgot to take pictures before the course was consumed. I did manage to get a photo of two of the courses.
One course which I did not photograph was a garlic risotto. Granted that I'm not a risotto expert, but this one I was served at Rouge was without question the best I've ever had. I'm still drooling....
It was a hot day at 36, but we were seated in the tent beside the building. Most sides were open which gave a very nice view of their gardens as well as a very refreshing breeze.
It was very expensive for two of us (pushing $400 with tax and tip), so I would not visit frequently, but imo it is worthwhile to visit occasionally for special occasions.

I've only ever come for invited events. So no idea what the cost of anything is. Service is always amazing and atomosphere is great. Places artfully decorated but do keep in mind that it is inside a residential type home. They're entrees are good but I think has room for improvement. Other courses though tend to be phenomenal.

Excellent restaurant in Calgary with longstanding well deserved reputation. Excellent food. Love fresh herbs and veggies from their garden. Perfect portion sizes. We are GF (coeliac) and were having dinner as a group: chef made a special soup for us as neither option was GF: maybe the best I’ve had! Lovely ambience. Nice selection of wines. Fantastic staff.

It was our Anniversary. It was quiet, the service was excellent and not hovering or bothersome. The food was amazing I would definitely recommend it and will go back.
We had the chef's tasting menu and the wine pairings.
The staff was really friendly, and always made sure our drinks were filled.
The wine was fantastic, and well paired with the food.
The food, was decent but I wasn't really wowed by any dish. I probably wouldn't recommend it, because the value wasn't there for me.
The overall experience was really good! Thank you so much 😊
Our server, Miriam, was lovely and patient as we ask about the dishes.
Surprisingly, we adored the pork tenderloin more than the beef. The way they made potatoes were so interesting. It was a delightful experience.
It’s a pricey restaurant, and I’m rating it 4 since I wasn’t “wowed” by the beef nor the vegan lasagna.
However, looking forward to come back here to try their tasting menu.
Had birthday dinner for wife. Decided on the tasting menu for three on a Wed evening. Disappointed in the gluten free servings as they lacked flavour and had poor texture. Other servings were good but not spectacular. For the overall cost of the dinner ($425 with no alcohol ) I would rate the food as slightly above avg. and service as expected for a higher end restaurant. Chairs were uncomfortable after one hour of sitting. Overall did not feel good value for money.
