Wow. Incredible Indian street food. We had the prawn curry thali with roti and papadam, lentil Dahl, samosa chaat, stuffed puri, and Chole Bhature, and ALL were super tasty and I’d have them again. We stopped here twice on our Calgary foodie trip. Located in a buzzing food market that also sells alcohol for those who want it. Highly recommend this place. Friendly staff, too.
Some of the most authentic Indian food I’ve had in Canada except for the price point which is just about average for other joints in Canada. I appreciate the effort to construct authentic and sometimes complex dishes in as close to ‘fast’ food as possible. Their kitchen is open to onlookers and clean and honestly even though we had to wait 20mins I was satisfied.

This is hands down the best Indian food we have eaten in Calgary. Even within this market where all the food is exceptional, Saffron stands out. The freshness of the spices jump out and they even turn very common dishes, like butter chicken, into an entirely unique experience. I would highly recommend anyone looking for an amazing Indian restaurant to check out Saffron Street!
