I was really in the mood for Pho, and with our regular spot closed, we decided to check out Saigon Chef, which is just around the corner from us here in Canada. I’m so happy we did because, honestly, this place outshines the Pho restaurant we usually go to! I’m still amazed by how good it was.
I went for the Satay Beef Noodle Soup, and my friend chose the Hue Style Beef Noodle Soup. We also grabbed a Banh Mi to take home, and it was just as delicious. I was so caught up in the flavors of my soup that I totally forgot to snap a decent photo before digging in—it was that fantastic! The broth was bursting with authentic taste, and I appreciated how it felt like a lighter, yet satisfying meal.
The experience here was top-notch. The staff welcomed us with a complimentary pot of tea, which was such a sweet gesture. The serving sizes were perfect, and the food tasted incredibly fresh. I also tried their Avocado Coconut Shake, which was a highlight for me since I love avocado in my meals. It was smooth, creamy, and refreshing—honestly better than others I’ve had, and it felt like a healthier treat I could enjoy guilt-free .
The new owners are super friendly and even stopped by our table to chat, making us feel right at home. I’m already itching to return and explore more of their menu, especially the 7 Beef Course, which isn’t something you see everywhere because of the effort it takes. I’m thrilled they offer it! You can tell this family-run spot has a real love for Southern Vietnamese cuisine, and the quality is unmatched.
The staff checked on us several times, and their service was outstanding—not about expecting a big tip, just genuine care. Easily one of the best Vietnamese restaurants around here in Canada! We’re definitely coming back soon. If you’re looking for amazing food and warm vibes, Saigon Chef is a must-try. 😊

Best service I’ve ever had. I always come here with my family on the weekend , but now I come at least 3 times a week. The food is great, my choices to choose from, prices are reasonable and staffs are super friendly!! I recommend trying the Avocado Coffee, best combination you can find in the city!!

I love this place! They have really friendly staff and great tasting food! Especially their BBQ pork. Its nice that its not so busy so even on a Sunday lunchtime seating is available. I love their free tea as well

Visited this place on September 6, at 12:35 pm. Pho bo (beef soup) is very weak with bunch of white onion. Cold coffee is terrible. Banh Mi (sandwich with mixed meat) is average. I would avoid this place in the future. I am trying to find the best Pho place in Calgary, so far has reviewed 10 places and this place is amongst the worst ones.
