What a great sushi place! All the options and just high quality food. And Jacky - what a nice wholesome welcoming guy that only wishes you enjoy the great food. Highly recommend this place when you’re in Calgary!

Amazing sushi, the care and quality in the food is unbelievably. The staff were wonderful but I did find service a bit slow.

Omakase is all the rave right now and Calgary to offer it is such a blessing. To that end, Satsuki does it right.
Food: Everything was done right. From the cut of the sashimi to the homemade desserts, it was an exciting journey through Japan's sushi cuisine. There were fishes unique only to Omakase in Japan that Satsuki was able to procure. The head chef is also an expert in Sake. It was truly a culinary experience.
Service: Head chef and her boyfriend were friendly and attentive. It was nice to hear the history and back story of Satsuki and how the restaurant came to be.
Atmosphere: Restaurant is small and cozy. Sitting at the sushi bar makes the experience more personal and unique.
Value: Upfront cost is high, but the ingredients and food you get is worth it, at least once. Technically it is cheaper to eat rare sushi from Japan here than to fly there instead.

Absolutely lovely place to eat authentic and fusion style Japanese foods. If you wish to have a great time with good ppl, good foods, definitely I recommend this place. From wagyu dumpling to dessert, all dishes were impeccable! I will try dinner omakase soon~ .

I recently dined at Satsuki and was very impressed with the exceptional service. From the moment we were seated, the staff was attentive and thoughtful, ensuring our experience was comfortable. We were provided with hot towels, prompt refills on drinks, and our soy sauce dish was topped up without even needing to ask.
The presentation of the food was beautiful, with each dish crafted with great attention to detail. While the sushi was fresh and enjoyable, it didn't quite reach the 'wow' factor in terms of flavor that I was hoping for. However, the overall experience, especially the outstanding service, made the meal very pleasant. I'd recommend it for those looking for a relaxing and well-cared-for dining experience.

Nice little restaurant with relaxing jazz music.
Scallops sushi was excellent but the salmon and tuna mush was bland and definitely something we wouldn’t order again.
Perhaps we need to try other items in the future.

Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Each dish is so beautifully created. Their features are amazing, as well as the staples. Would devour an entire bowl of the tomatoes with sesame.... Must go!!

We were excited to try this place based on the reviews, but were left very disappointed. The food was not very good tonight.
-Bluefin Tuna Otoro was fine, but the rice fell apart and was expecting more flavour.
-Spicy Roll was quite bad. It was a mound of salmon or tuna on top of a cucumber roll, presented very poorly, and drenched in sriracha/hot sauce. Way too overbearing
-Negi Toro was cold, like it just came out of the refrigerator. Had almost no flavour to it
-Wagyu Gyoza (which we ordered as an appetizer) came out last, and was nothing to write home about, especially for the price.
-The food was rifled out in random order. The gyoza came 15 mins after the sushi. We felt rushed.
Maybe it was bad luck tonight, but just an underwhelming dinner overall. We expected higher quality Japanese food especially considering the prices.

Beautiful, authentic Japanese dining perfection! Quality ingredients and lovely flavours and presentation. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. Will be back to enjoy their Omakase when we have more time ?
Food: some of the sushi and maki are delicious. Others are average. Can recommend the hamachi maki, the ikayaki and tuna otoro. The spicy futomaki was disappointing.
Service: for this price level, they need to do better. We were placed at the bar, yet it was very hard to get anyone's attention. It all seemed rather chaotic.
Atmosphere: a bit of a weird mix of warm wood and cold light and white walls. Not very cozy.

My boyfriend and I went for dinner, for the first time. We both agreed we can never have sushi elsewhere after eating here. Not only was the food delicious, and fresh, the service was immaculate. Everyone was so thorough, kind and attentive. Will for sure be coming back to try the omakase!
The restaurant is tucked away downstairs so you won't see it on the main street. We ordered the mini omakase which consists of a bunch of little appetizers and nigiri. I didn't love the flavors and selections. The only thing that was good was the blue fin nigiri and uni. The beef tataki lacked seasoning and I didn't love the Panna cotta. The ika and otoro nigiri was really good so I would just stick to nigiris if I come back. The prices for them are not cheap though, there's cheaper places in town like ari sushi.

If I could, I'd rate this place 10 stars. The food is incredible, with each dish offering its own unique flair. I never skip a chance to dine here—it's a must-visit!
