I’m extremely disappointed with this sports bar and won’t be returning for any future games. On Grey Cup night when three quarters of the building was clearly there to watch the CFL, they chose to prioritize regular NFL games instead. They pushed all the Grey Cup viewers into the lower section and patio, and then only had one waitress covering the entire lower area.
On top of that, they scheduled a fundraiser during the Grey Cup which took up half of the space where the game was actually being shown with sound. The fundraiser group was allowed to talk on a microphone through the game, making it even harder to enjoy the event we all came for.
For a place that calls itself a sports bar, this was a major failure in judgment and customer experience. I’ll be finding a different place to watch sporting events going forward.

Foods extremely over priced. 24 dollars for a hamburger is absurd. Asked for hot parmesan boneless wings, they came barley sauced and next to no parmesan. The meatloaf was extremely over seasoned with thyme or Italian seasoning. The veggies had no seasoning. The food runners bringing the food out and just stare at all of us instead of asking who ordered what. Staff needs to learn to use their words and voice. Server amy way amazing.

Schanks is hit and miss. It’s a coin flip if you get service, good food, or if they aren’t out of something. But the mini golf course is awesome. Lots of pool tables and the arcade is cool. Even if sometimes the arcade games are busted. The screens are awesome for the game though. Overall I want the place to succeed

Hadn't been here in a year, so thought we would try again. Atmosphere is great, had good serve, but thought would try their wings again. NOPE . I think they must boil them, then finish cooking when ordered. Had honey hot. Didn't even taste like chicken. Probably the worst wings I've ever had. My friend had hot, and said the same. So, sorry guys, won't order your wings again. Perhaps other food is better.

We had a birthday party there on the 19th of October and wanted to reflect. Our waitress Emily M gave us most excellent service. She took care of all of our needs, and we are needy people. For all 30 of us, everyone loved her! Thanks Emily for making our day so bright!
We came in for Game 7 of the Blue Jays and honestly… JORDAN made the entire night unforgettable! She was hands down the best waitress we’ve ever had. super friendly, upbeat, and always smiling. Even with the game chaos, she kept our table laughing, our drinks full, and the energy high the whole time.
Jordan has that perfect mix of amazing service, great personality, and genuine good vibes that just makes you feel taken care of. She hyped us up through every inning and made sure we had everything we needed (and more).
If you ever get the chance to have Jordan as your server you’re in for the best night ever. She’s a total star and made Game 7 one for the books. 💙⚾️

A Highlight of Our Calgary Trip! Came into Calgary all the way from Manitoba, and a friend suggested checking out Schanks Sports Grill for the games and atmosphere—and it was an awesome recommendation! We had a fantastic time. The real highlight of our evening, however, was our server, Emily. She was absolutely amazing, providing genuinely attentive service with a wonderfully kind demeanor. She made us feel incredibly welcome and really elevated the experience. We had a blast, and next time I'm in Calgary, we will absolutely be back. Thanks, Emily!
Had a really enjoyable time at Shanks! The patio is fantastic — spacious, lively, and perfect for enjoying a sunny Calgary afternoon. The atmosphere was upbeat but still relaxed, with lots of TVs for sports and a good mix of music in the background.
Our server was super friendly and attentive the entire time — drinks came quickly, and they checked in just the right amount without hovering. The food was fresh and came out fast.
It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay for one more round just to soak up the vibe. Perfect spot for casual drinks with friends, watching a game, or just hanging out on the patio. Definitely coming back!
