Just hosted our Son’s 9th birthday and they did an amazing job. Food with great with generous portions, good games with lots of help setting them up and they did a great job decorating.
A Smash Café is such a fantastic find! From the moment you walk in, the owner makes you feel incredibly welcome — you can tell right away that they genuinely care about creating a great experience for both kids and parents.
The space is immaculately clean, cozy, and comfortably set up. Whether your kids are there for gaming or you’re just tagging along, there’s something for everyone. There’s even a separate board game area for parents, which is such a thoughtful touch — perfect if you get bored or just want to hang out while the kids play.
The food and drinks are great, and the pricing is very reasonable — just $10 per hour during the week, which is a steal for the quality of the space and service. What really stands out is the owner’s attentiveness — if the kids run into any issues, he’s right there, ready to help and make sure they’re having fun.
All in all, A Smash Café is a clean, cozy, welcoming spot with great vibes and great value. Whether you’re a gamer, a parent, or just looking for a chill place to hang out, it’s absolutely worth checking out!
Absolutely loved our visit to Smash Cafe in Calgary! The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is cozy and vibrant — perfect for relaxing or getting a bit of work done. And let me just say, the coffee was amazing!
What makes this place even more special is how family-friendly it is. If you're a parent, this spot is a hidden gem. You can enjoy some quiet time while your kids stay entertained with consoles and board games. It’s the perfect balance of fun and relaxation.
Highly recommend this cafe — whether you’re looking for a good cup of coffee, a chill vibe, or a spot where your kids can have fun too!
This is the best place for a birthday party!!! We hosted 10 10 year olds here for my son’s birthday and they all had the best time. The owners were so nice and helpful, they arranged all the food and provided technical assistance with the games. Totally recommend!!
I placed an order on Too Good To Go for Super Smash Cafe, paying $6.99 for what was advertised as $21 worth of food.
When I arrived near the end of the pickup window, the employee seemed unaware of the Too Good To Go order, which was disappointing—I would have expected the order to be ready by that time. The bag included two slices of cake (pictured) and two Costco muffins. Based on their menu prices, this adds up to about $15 in value, not the $21 promised. Also, if I wanted Costco muffins, I could have easily purchased them elsewhere for less.
I was already skeptical after seeing the mixed reviews, and unfortunately, this experience confirmed my concerns. I won’t be returning.
Dropped by to work while my wife had an appointment nearby. Couldn't find parking, when i called, the person on the phone said to park in the identified commercial/delivery vehicle spots right out front.
Person was super friendly that greeted me and took my order but was pretty bummed to learn their only milk alternative was almond. The only other allergy I have (besides milk), is almond :( So I had a large black Americano which wouldn't have been my first choice.
Fantastic for kids and families.
My wife and I visited this place expecting something unique, but it was underwhelming. The only standout feature was the gaming café concept, where you can pay to play console games. However, the drink menu was very limited, and it took an unreasonably long time to prepare just two drinks. To make matters worse, the lids they provided didn’t even have an opening for straws. The staff didn’t come across as welcoming or friendly, which made the experience even less enjoyable. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend or return.

The food options were meh. The service was also meh being right across from the University you'd think the service would be a little better there was only 1 other person there and it still took 15 mins to get our food which was spring rolls and a hotdog but the idea of the restaurant is super cool and the price to play the games is really decent im pretty sure it was 10 bucks for an hour but we didn't have time to take advantage of the games that day pretty kool spot overall

I’ve never actually left a bad review anywhere before but this was warranted. I brought my 9 year old in for a fun day and something different to do, we paid for 2 hours and played one game for about 10 minutes in that time. Every game we tried didn’t work. I don’t know if it was the lady’s first day but she spent half an hour setting up guitar hero and it just didn’t work, we then played a switch game. No Nintendo account linked so couldn’t play. We ended up trying different things for an hour played one round of a game after an hour of waiting around for her to try and make things work and my 9 year old asked if we could leave. Still paid for the two hours and our 8 dollar milkshakes even though we pretty much sat around for an hour. Definitely would not recommend.

The owner is a lovely man who provides great customer service, but there are many things he needs to do to improve the business.
There is one small fan for the entire store. There needs to be air conditioning as there is a pizza store next door and a lot of electronics running. It was hot to the point that we were all sweating while sitting playing games calmly. I have a heart condition so we couldn't stay the entire time we planned to stay. We all had to exit multiple times to get air.
The couches have lost their cushioning, so washable pillows or something should be offered so people don't get in pain.
I would recommend selling the coffee machine you don't use to finance the things needed to elevate your place.
Also, since board games are free, I would have a spot for people to donate games they no longer want for a small credit or something, so you can keep renewing that stock also.
While I was there, many people came in to ask about fruit smoothies, and you only offer milkshakes now. You may want to offer those smoothies.
The menus, food, and games all need updates to accurately reflect what you have in stock and how many people can actually play. Many times, it said 4 players, and it was often only 1 or 2 players. This was frustrating for me.
Parking: The parking isn't easy at all as it is by a car wash and 16 Ave.
Kid-friendliness: Tons of kid friendly games!

I recently visited Super Smash Café for the first time while in town from BC, and I had a fantastic experience! The space is well-organized with a great variety of games to choose from, all at very reasonable prices. Armando (apologies if I got the spelling wrong) was an excellent host—super friendly and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed. The food was also a pleasant surprise, really tasty and satisfying.
The only thing I’d suggest is adding more fans or AC, as it got a bit warm inside, but honestly, that didn’t take away from the overall experience. I highly recommend checking out Super Smash Café if you're in the area—it’s definitely a spot worth visiting!
